It's not a lack of desire or effort. They're simply not good enough as a team.

Our distinct lack of quality showed there with that spell of possession. We worked it close to their box and then gradually got further away from goal again because we couldn't find any progressive passes or create any space. Eventually it falls to Dawson who clipped it forward hopefully and you knew before he hit it that was going to be the end of the attack.
