This fascination with ex players is bewildering.
If skp had anything even remotely worthy about him and is as ambitious as he makes out why has no one hired him.
He either lacks bottle or he is crap.
Why doesnt he try a div 2 club first?
Such a miserable bloke. Do you ever annoy yourself with how bitter you are?

He's too much in the grip of his Talksport paymasters.....say something controversial, no matter how daft, and get the phones ringing.

This is what I was hoping before we appointed PP. So much so that I put a tenner on it. Gambling is like my prediction league participation.....****<laugh>

Same here (including the prediction league) in fact they were who I wanted before we got Ross. If we did decide to sack Parkinson we'd have to have a damn good reason to do it and putting in an unproven ex player as manager wouldn't be it for me.

What if Parkinson has players in mind to bring in in January? A change now would start that whole process again and may make any targets in January unachievable. I genuinely do not know what is best right now. I'm stuck on the fence and quite frankly it hurts.

This is where I am mate.

We need to give him January. See if he can make a stamp.

The concern is the freefall we are in now, season could be gone by then. Might be already.

It's already gone Nads, no might about it.
can't see PP picking up enough points in the few games we've got next month to keep us in touch and if he does land his five targets they have to hit the ground running and when was the last time this club signed players in that category.
were in a right pickle at present and I can't remember if I was ever this depressed about our prospects and I've had plenty of disappointments supporting this club as have us all.

If we could get Pearson with Phillips as assistant I'd sack Parkinson immediately, Phillips as manager I don't see being a good idea while we're in this mess.

This was my first choice when we got rid of Ross.

No change there.

I'm not sure I trust the judgement of Mucky Gray since he was the one doing donuts in the SOL car park with his new ferrari just after 40 admin staff had been sacked.

Is it Des from RTG?

Just as a matter of interest would you keep Parkinson or get rid. If you would get rid who would you want as manager.

Or a midtable league one team. Every manager has to start somewhere.

Parkinson should have went back to Bolton when they were saved, would Mclaren do any worse for us ? get Keane back ?

Xmas is around the corner. Treat your loved ones to these amazing Mince pies...

Ingredients
1 large jar mincemeat (about 600g)
2 satsumas, segmented
1 apple, finely chopped
zest 1 lemon
little icing sugar, for dusting
For the pastry
375g plain flour
260g unsalted butter, softened
125g caster sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
1 large egg, plus 1 beaten egg for glazing
Method
  1. Place 375g plain flour and 260g softened unsalted butter in a bowl and rub together to a crumb consistency.

  2. Add 125g caster sugar and 1 large beaten egg, and mix together.

  3. Tip out onto a lightly floured surface and fold until the pastry comes together, be careful not to over mix.

  4. Wrap the pastry in cling film and chill for 10 mins.

  5. Scoop the large jar of mincemeat into a bowl and add 2 segmented satsumas, 1 finely chopped apple and zest of 1 lemon.

  6. Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7.

  7. Roll out the pastry to 3mm thick.

  8. Using a round cutter (about 10cm), cut out 16 bases and place them into muffin trays. Put 1½ tbsp mincemeat mixture into each. Brush the edge of each pie with a little beaten egg.

  9. Re-roll out the pastry to cut 7cm lids and press them on top to seal. Glaze with the beaten egg, sprinkle with the extra caster sugar, then make a small cut in the tops.

  10. Bake the mince pies for 15-20 mins until golden brown. Leave to cool before releasing them from the muffin trays and dusting with a little more icing sugar before serving.
