I'll bullet point it for you, to make it more digestable.
-1918 was a general election in which there was a protest vote against the threat of conscription during the war (britain and Ireland had just come out of the greatest war in history against Germany).
Opinion or fact? State a peer reviewed source please! The more accepted version is the public opinion sway toward the republican movement as a result of the treatment and execution of the leaders of the Easter Rising, even though it did take no part
-the general election in Ireland was a farce with widespread intimidation of the population by republicans which led to many seats being unopposed because no one dared to stand against sinn fein.
Just because a seat goes uncontested does not mean it was the result of intimidation. You seem to be inferring without evidence again. IPP and Sinn fein very much fought this election together in many areas Peer reviewed evidence please
-genuine sinn fein voters later bragged of voting up to 20 times each (as documented by kee)
As documented? Was he there to document it? What is his source
-the vote wasn't a refuerdnum on independence. everyone knew that there was no legal right to independence (this didn't stop sinn fein declaring independence on winning the most seats in Ireland, but the declaration received no international recognition)
I never stated it was a referendum, but it was an overwhelming vote for a Republican party. They had every right to feel they had the democratic majority was behind them. "Legal right"
go tell that to Americans about the declaration of independence, see how they give 2 ****s
-in spite of the above, less than 50% of the votes recorded were for sinn feinn.
They didnt create the system of voting
-the only vote for independence was in 1927 when less than 1/6 of the island voted for independence.
I can find no source for this vote or election. But a majority approved DeValera's constitution in 1937 in the refurendum held
-when sinn fein asked the pope to endorse sinn fein's claim to independence after the referendum he declined
What has the pope got to do with this?
-in 1931 William Cosgrave wrote to the british prime minister assuring him of Ireland's loyalty to the king, and that Ireland recognised that it could not declare independence from the british empire and that its people had no will to
And a few years later they changed their mind, so ......?
-In 1980? when the british government declared a refurndum in northern Ireland, republicans threatened to blow up the voting stations, and 98% returned in favour of remaining part of the UK.
98%
thats like something Mugabe would come up with. Please if you feel the voting in NI in the early 80s was fair you really are more delusional than I thought
