It IS murder when a creep like Merson is proved right.
Worse when the manager and players let us down so massively.
Yes, the referee was one of the worst examples of homer referee Ive seen for a while, but hardly an excuse for an atrocious performance like that.

Shameful; no.

A footballing lesson, to show us what we work we still have to do, to move to the top level; yes

Players like Perch and Guthrie are fine, against most Premiership sides, but Tottenham are not like most Premiership sides. They have pace throughout the side, and a midfield with pace will be overrun by them, like today. In a way, it was a bit like watching NUFC, under KK Mark I, when they gave Spurs a battering (7-1) like they gave us today.

We're a work not only in progress but in it's infancy. Don't let the fact that we have overachieved for much of this season delude us into unrealistic expectations, and overreaction to setbacks such as these.

Bring on the Wolves and the unwashed: and HTL <ok>

Beaten by a better side today. Merson called it as much as it pains me to admit. Never thought we would get anything but didn't think we would leave spurs on zero goal difference either. Never mind. Wolves in a couple of weeks, need a performance and a result from that one.

It's one thing losing, but the manner in which we lost was was pretty unbearable at times.

Same old story against a team with pace. Just have to crack on now. Bounced back after getting a beating at fulham so have to do it again with another 2 winable home games. One just happens to be the mackems ;)

It wouldn't surprise me if Tottenham won this game 5-0, but Newcastle also have the belief and ability to come out of this with a draw. Newcastle could have been hammered at Blackburn and if they play like that at White Hart Lane they could get ripped apart - and I think Tottenham will hit top form, especially after the week Harry Redknapp's had. I don't want to take anything away from the amazing season Newcastle have had, though.

There isn't one thing in that post that isn't spot on.

Funny old game this prediction thing. Often leaves you looking like a total dickhead.

By the way, how come you don't have a game next weekend like us?:D
