Their mirrors are dangling off what looks like a curves top plane and sraight horizontal under plane.

Totally unique
Wasn't there rules about using mirrors as aerodynamic devices? Remember when ferrari attached them to the Halo. I don't know if this has changed in 2022 rules.

Edit: just looked it up. It's legal as long as then can prove the driver can see them. So I presume they can

A lot of teams have a support under the mirror and a horizontal plane so I assume its legal enough

Apparently their engine is mounted further back and gearbox is shorter to allow this body with the under floor and tunnels.

The ferrari supposedly better engine is bigger which accounts for this difference in approach?

I think I read Ferrari did a lot of work on engine weight and keeping it down - if find any articles il ping a link on.

Im really excited to see if they make that power step along with Renault and hear about how they did it, what approach etc.

merc are covering the entire tyre. i've not seen this on any other car. they have all thus far looked the same as you have said.

I have only just bloody noticed the Ferrari ones are doing something different as WELL look at the bottom of the Ferrari ones above. the yellow pin stipe makes it obvious they are going quite low and curving inward.

Merc must see some advantage to have those covers out that far.
It appears that the digital render is from a very early set of rules where the wheel deflectors were allowed to be wider!!!!

Just spotted another Merc video - Lewis doing a lap of Silverstone.
In the video you can see the massive flex in the front wing - I give it till after the first race where Merc beat Red Bull before the protests start!
