There used to be a presumption of innocent u ntil proved guilty - what happened to that in today's woke world?

I got told off by my kids for saying we were having a chinky for dinner - apparently food is sensitive to what it is called now too.

Christmas on our own but I cooked a nice traditional roast turkey and we ate too much of course. Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for the support you have shown

Older people use it casually to describe food. Younger people don’t.

I wouldn’t call it woke, it’s just another example of language changing. It’s not difficult to say Chinese instead of that word anyway.

Christmas is hard and I'm sending lots of love across the wires @Alfie Conn. :emoticon-0152-heart

My Mum died 40 years ago today when I was 23 and still think of her every day, so its a tough period of the year. To cap it off my Dad then went New Years day in '97!

On a happier note my daughter was born on the 27th and is 18 tomorrow, so this period holds some strange thoughts and feelings for me...:emoticon-0142-happy

I undestand different generations use different words - bad and sick do not mean what they did. Our generation saw gay and other words used for alternative meanings.
That was not the point I was making. I do not tell my children off for their different use of language - it is good. Equally they might be more tolerant of older people using words they always have. I am happy to say Chinese now if it causes offense to younger people to use "that other word".
My woke comment was mainly directed to Perryman's comments - the Chinese was just an illustration of how people now think they can tell others what to say - and think? George Orwell foretold it in 1984.
I would never use thought word or deed to deliberately hurt any sentient being - a concept of "ahimsa" I learnt doing yoga when I was young. But older people especially find they get out of step wth the modern world so easily. We lived in a world where "sticks and stones can break your bones but names could never hurt you" I don't fully support that but a lot of younger people especially seem to have developed a super sensitive ego.
Maybe it is just my depression speaking but I honestly will be happy when I am no longer around. Every day is a massive struggle and I am just too tired. Christmas and the like just seem to make it worse not better.
Sorry though if I offended you

As far as I’m concerned these women have something in them that is the equivalent of the dodgy bloke who hangs around playgrounds and parks. It just manifests for a female in these ways.

Women don’t get arrested for rape do they? Violence against others? probably because this rarely happens with that species. It’s games like this they are disgusting with in behaviour. Feminist man hating

They need lashings and prison time

Basically no, in the UK, at least.
Rape in England and Welsh law involves penetration. Not sure about Scottish law.
They get prosecuted for sexual assault instead, which can get the same sentence.
