Many factors today had me at my lowest, today the weather was as gloomy as my mood , We have my wife's funeral on Monday so I was putting the final details to that , then I realised that I had not seen certain precious items of jewellery that she used to wear . I sat in our bedroom and just thought where would you put them as we had to leave for the hospital in a hurry all those weeks ago , then it came to me ,they were in a box on the dressing table that one of the grandkids gave her .
Out of the blue one of our neighbours called for a chat and a cup of tea , her family had only moved in six months ago but she said my wife was the first to welcome them to the street and offered help one day when my wife could see she was looking upset , 2hrs later after a lot of tears and some laughter she left with me with a lighter mood

Never work on the day...my job is really understanding so have been to his memorial tree to be with him...back im the day you didnt get a birth certificate if a baby was born prematurely and died with in mins so couldnt get a death certicate so couldnt have a funeral.
Mrs RCL (not his mum) got me a tree in Greenwich Park to help me cope back in 2005. Shes working in sheffield so went on my own. Was good to spend time with him but today the world can go and ****ing burn...sorry to dump this on here but cant say **** like this to any one in the real world.

Every parents worse nightmare, and I genuinely don't know how I would have coped in that situation. I've had lots of ups and downs in my life but nothing approaches what your family went through. I'm not afraid to say I shed a tear reading your post.

So so sorry for your loss Alfie...Hope Monday goes as well as can be.

Monday will be difficult for you but funerals can also help people move on and face their future with a bit more clarity and certainty. Give your wife the send off she deserves.

Jolly good to hear there were some laughter today intermingled with your grief. Take care.

My heart goes out to Alfie and RCL - both wonderful people. I have not been around for a bit as we are trying to move near our daughters for better support after last month's fall and it is unbelievable how much time solicitors, finance people and estate agents take up.
Sorry to miss your post on Thursday RCL - others here do not know how much you are supporting me through whatsapp at the moment and you do that despite everything going on in your life. The tree is a wonderful thing.
Alfie - i will be thinking of you tomorrow - you too are the best.
