...so you're saying that Liverpool is winning the title next year, then?

Yes, I saw news of the cancellation earlier yesterday [note time of post]. It was sparked by the report that the player's agent said that Sterling wouldn't stay even if Liverpool offered him £900,000 a week.

I imagine there's nothing left to say after that.

It's the same with every bully, there is always a bigger bully somewhere else to kick their ass
No doubt there will be scores of winging Scousers all over the media over the next few weeks and then the Scouse press will do their best to vilify Sterling......which won't be that difficult because he and his agent have behaved very badly

Sterling is so young that he should have at last completed one more season at Liverpool, before seeking a move when he had a year left in his contract. Players seeking moves as fast as this are doing a Lovren (as it is known). The agent denies he said any such thing. Whatever, it would be rude not to laugh.<laugh>

Liverpool must have been full of hope after coming 2nd last year...just needed a couple more players. I think Lovren is a double agent sent to demoralise them and destroy their defence...sometimes he made it too obvious...no PL defender could be that bad.

Quite enjoying this!

What I would say about Sterling is that I actually don't think he's very good. Of course, he has a lot of skill but so would a circus juggler. It doesn't necessarily make him a good footballer. He regularly seems to take on stupid shots when he has colleagues unmarked and in better positions. He is now demonstrating off the field what we know about him on it, that he is not a team player.

Ironically, if Liverpool get good money for him AND spend it wisely, they could be a better team without him (did I mention changing their manager as well !)

I agree, he has potential to be very good indeed, but not sure his attitude matches. Raheem Wright Phillips <ok>

Sterling is at a crucial point in his career...has the talent, but needs guidance to get the best out of him. He has ended up at the wrong club, because they are in transition (to what I have no idea). He needs to be at a club who know where they are going....could have done better at Saints, Arsenal or even Spurs. ManU are still finding themselves, and perhaps van Gaal couldn't cope with Shaw and Sterling.

On the other hand, I don't agree with players thinking they can waltz away from a contract. Brendan has said Sterling is expected to see out his contract...been there, Brenda, watch this space. Raheem could learn from Morgan...after a French flounce, he settled down and had a very good season. Sterling is still young enough to wait another year. Too many players never live up to their potential because they chase the money and the good times instead of knuckling down.

It all depends on what his lifetime objective is....if he is bright enough to have thought about such a thing.
If his objective and ambition to be as good a footballer as he can be, be a hero to tens of thousands, score lots of goals, win a trophy or two and play at the highest international level then he will stay at Scousehampton and knuckle down.
However, if his ambition/objective is to earn as much money as he can, own fast cars, have fast women, own a huge mock Tudor mansion in Cheshire then he will make a big money move to a club that pays big and will not look after him and like so many greedy young men like Rodwell, Sinclair and dare I say it Luke Shaw he will drift away from being the footballer he could have been but be perfectly happy with the distractions of being a young multi millionaire
Time will tell

Reactions: West Kent Saint
The irony of the situation is so evident that it begged for a journalist to write it down. If only to show how unique and special the situation is, of course.

I felt forced to post the just-the-way-it-works link over on the Liverpool board to feed the flames a little - I've just read through 20 pages of the bin dippers bitching because Karma came to visit, completely hilarious.
