Pork shoulder (or “butt”) in a slow smoker or slow cooker. It’s as tender and moist as anything.
Yeah they are all good..
Although my favourite is duck..
Then lamb.
The a got bit juicy rib eye steak..
**** it, all off them.
Duck in a roast dinner?
I like duck but not as a roast dinner.
Oddly I’ve never had goose.
Just thought I'd join the trend of phishing other people here with another stupid thread..
So.. Whats your Sunday favourite? Beef, Lamb, Pork (exceptions allowed), Chicken, Turkey, Goose or a Maccy D's..?
Lamb for me, cooked tender, a decent half-leg gas mark 3 upside down for 90 mins and then gas mark 4 for 90 mins right side up and either minted or Rosemary skewered...
Love a quarter pounder cheese burger from maccy d's too after a skinful, which isn't often now..![]()
With you all the way until salad. With a shepherd's pie. That is insanity.A leg of lamb always works slow cooked but something else I like is a well made Shepards Pie...with a few Indian spices thrown in for my own twist. A bit of oil, a couple of medium sized onions, diced, a teaspoon of garlic/ginger paste, handful of cumin seeds...when onions get transparent and start to brown..throw in the mince...A pinch of chilli, salt, Cumin powder, coriander powder...a handful of peas and a bit of plain flour to bind it, not much though...don't want it sticky. Once cooked throw in a generous amount of chopped fresh coriander.
Potatoes boiled, butter, milk, black pepper and a bit of salt...mash it up well.
Layer the mashed potato on top of the mince and grate some cheese over it...stick in oven for around 20 minutes.
Serve with fresh salad![]()

Nothing. Bit of gravy possibly.Never quite know what to have with it...on its own works...what would you have with it?

Lamb is the King for me, with a nice Mint Sauce.
Pork and beef are good if cooked properly.
Pork has to be juicy, with nice crackling, and beef HAS to be pink, there is nothing worse than overcooked beef!!
Chicken is meh....its chicken, you can sass it up anyway you want but its ****ing chicken.
I find people who say their favourite roast dinner meat is chicken, are the same people who eat every meal with ounces of Ketchup, and whose diets consist of McCain Oven Chips or Smiley potato faces with baked beans and a nice LIDL frozen pizza![]()
To be fair, that's just bollocks. What chicken have you been eating that needs to be sassed up when roasted? Buy some quality.
A good quality chicken, roasted, is tasty as ****.
Admittedly it's more of a staple than the others in that it's probably the cheapest (if you buy ****, factory produced, steroid pumped bargain birds) but it pisses over turkey and pork.
The type of people who eat ketchup, oven chips, smiley faces, Lidl pizza and such probably do eat mass produced cheap chicken because they haven't got a pot to piss in and it's cheap.
You sound like Jamie Oliver for **** sake.
