I ain't watched soccer am for years but saw a bit of today's show with a Scarborough scarf on the table at the front. Maybe it's there every week? Bullard is still annoying though.
Got told someone who works on the soccer am show is a Scarborough supporter Mr Cambridge. Last week there was a big pennant on the table Jeff Barnby was at the game yesterday and was introduced to fans for having played for Scarborough v Stafford at Wembley in the past.
My mates lads just signed from ferriby ,James Williamson, got his first goal yesterday how's he looking Filey ?
Went to see some Conference North at York yesterday as friends son playing, took me back how crap (& small) York's ground is. Though a couple of thousand turned up. Bizarre of the day seeing John Parkin and even at 38 (stone) he can still jump higher than Chris Martin
Fenners from Soccer AM is from Scarborough, I went to school with him and played in same football team. What did you think to the penalty decision Filey? I would've have gone ballistic if it was a tight game and given other way. Just about thawed out now after standing in the gale force wind for 2 hours!
I used to quite like the away end at Bootham Crescent - packed with 3k or so City fans. Think the last time I went was the first reunion with Dolan - remember it being pretty funny without being able to remember all details.
I was in the 'away end' [33 of us] mainly cordoned off with tape, reminded me of the last days of the Ark... and yes brought back some memories
I enjoyed going as a kid, but some of their fans are ****ing horrible. I'm glad they're in the VNN, they can ****ing well stay there.
I've heard of York fans being involved in stuff, but never seen it first-hand. All I recall is City fans running amok there.
Many years ago I worked with a 'York Nomad' (?) fecking big, but nice lad, he walked away from them when they attacked a family ...
Same here; in my time, York away was pretty much like a home game. Last time I went it was a 1-1 draw, **** game + I got a ticket for parking in a resident only zone.
Thanks Dr Stanley On subject of york away I use to like going there with City ...so much so York City v Grimsby town in the 70s was a day hundreds of Hull City fans turned up to support York city ...loads went on the Friday and slept out on the Friday night me included ...I never got to see the game as alot from Hull got rounded up and escorted back to Hull on bus on the Saturday . Some York fans use to join up with Hull city fans at some big games at BP and we would go to a few York games Crazy days Yorks ground was pretty crap but I liked going to there ground. We have got York on march 5th at home in the north riding county cup
From what I've seen of James Williamson he's done ok . I had moved from the shed end when Scarborough got the penalty to the swimming pool end Mr west stand stiffs so didn't get a good view of how we got the late penalty but Stafford Players sure didn't think it was a penalty. (Female friend picks me up at the swimming pool end car park after the game) Let me know if you go again I could have said hello Stadium will be better next season when the donkey field stand will have been built More undercover seating and under cover terracing the capacity will be just over 3,000 next season Weather puts some people of going with only the shed and the seats being under cover...seats are all sold out to season pass holders at present.
Never a penalty having watched the highlights. Stafford's goalkeeper had just come on loan from Birmingham City (under 18s)
