Wish I got paid to write the kind of crap he does! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28742392 Chelsea City United Liverpool Arsenal Everton Tottenham Newcastle Stoke Sunderland West Ham Hull Southampton QPR Swansea Villa Leicester West Brom Burnley Not sure what kind of brainless tool would put United in third. They've just lost Vidic, Rio, Evra and Giggs and still haven't replaced Scholes. They've only signed some CL, international and PL inexperienced (but promising) midfielder in Hererra and an over priced and inexperienced (but again promising) LB in Shaw. LVG's good, but their weaknesses still remain. Infact, of all the top 6/7 teams, United have weakened. No chance of top 4. Arsenal 5th?! One sure bet is that they'll keep their top 4 trophy again. Sanchez means there'll be some more depth/rotation for when the rest of their forwards get injured and their defense was solid last season - not sure why he says they're missing a commanding CB. They only miss a striker and a DM, but they've got more than enough quality to be in the top 4. Still think City will win it. My views on Chelsea, Fabregas and Costa have been posted a few times. Good, but nothing special and certainly restricted by Mourinho. Chelsea to come second. Arsenal third. Liverpool fourth.
I'd be just happy he's put lfc 4th.... I'd take it right now! frankly if you read my blog i put utd high up cos like it or no their squad still has players and good uns and van gaal will get a lot of clean sheets Though i must admit mcwanky putting arsenal 5th with their set up is just a huge call. I feel utd v arsenal is showing bias Your view of top 7 teams.... yes cheslea city and arsenal have improved. LFC look better all round the park except for that special something lost, have everton or spurs actually improved? Everton bought their loanees and one guy. They will be strong but improved? All in all I would gladly take your prediction right now. I just feel utd will be much improved and can run to 70 odd points so its gonig to be tight.
I would say United are quite likely to finish 3rd if I'm honest. He's been quite generous with us too for once. Arsenal more likely than us to finish 4th.
Lukaku will kick on this season now that he's at a club who appreciates and plays around him. He'll be settled finally and able to just play football. Being on loan is very different to being a fully contracted player, no doubt it'll lift the team too. Everton and Spuds might not have 'strengthened' in the way other top teams have, but they certainly haven't got weaker, like United have done.
So basically, like everyone else he doesn't see Man City or Chelsea dropping out but he wanted to fit Man Utd and Liverpool in (in accordance to both being biased and appearing unbiased), therefore suggesting Arsenal will drop out
The amusing part was his explanation: New manager, they've lost their old guard defense, still need to sign a dominant CB leader, still need quality in midfield and LVG will be hoping Rooney and RVP stay fit and play well. THIRD!
Just looking at the who's going to finish in the top 4 in isolation; Chelsea - made a couple of great signings in Fabregas and Costa, Mourinho's 2nd season - when he's always likely to make progress, so for me a no brainer for the top 4. Defensively solid, a choice of creative talent in midfield and finally a striker worthy of the name with the old faithful Drogba in reserve when needed. Man ££££ - their 2nd string would probably make a European place ffs. Anyone who predicts they're going to bomb out the top 4 needs to seek medical help. Arsenal - look a stronger outfit to me. Still need a couple more to make a squad capable of challenging to the death for the title, as Giroud is still their only quality out and out striker, but will this be the year that they finally drop out the top 4? Nope. Which leaves 1 spot available and the 2 main contenders will be your lot and United imo. You've lost your star player, but have added some squad depth. It remains to be seen how they gel, but for me, without Suarez you're a lesser proposition and Rodgers simply hasn't replaced him with a top drawer goalscorer - which for me is a massive error. United have brought in the mercurial Van Gaal, who will do an infinitely better job than Moyes. They won the title 2 years ago with the squad Moyes took down to 7th. They've lost a few of the old stagers, and still need to bring in at least one CB and another midfeld player imo, but they'll not be far away. Can't call it really between United and Liverpool for that last spot. What happens in the last couple of weeks of the window might bring some clarity to it.
Dont know what you are talking about Fact of the matter is though, no one (except Phil McF uckhead) expected us to win the league last season. It only became possible in January when Matic was added to the team and we stopped shipping goals. This season everything is in place and the expectation is there, from fans, and more importantly, from Roman. If we dont win the league this season Jose is gone.......I am too cynical about Roman to think otherwise.
City look very strong and that's just their 2nd 11, best Squad in the league and in Silva, the best #10 in the league (Our Ford will be there one day, not yet though..), Aguero, if he had stayed fit would have run Luis close for the Golden Boot! They're just very strong all across the pitch.. Chelsea bought well over the summer.. Aresnal are one decent Striker option and DM away from being serious contenders too.. I would like to finish in the Top to keep the momentum from last year going... Utd won't be far away, don't think they'll win the league but they'll have a say in who finishes in the Top 4, may do themselves.. Spurs I think will be good too, the players bought in last year will have had a season under their belt, they've a decent manager with good footballing philosophy. Everton have bought well and haven't been weakened by the loss of any key players, they too will be looking to continue their development under Martinez. Close league again this season me thinks... City and Chelsea favs for the league, can't argue with that, everything else is open/up for grabs!
Without doubt, Man City have the best CB (Kompany), best AM (Silva) and best striker (Aguero) in the league! #spine
you have to add yaya to that list too even if his work back is not strong. then add fernandinho is vital cog and as good as matic.... then add goal keeper is very good then oh add kolarov and zabaletta are very good full backs. Then i suppose stick on navas as a great option...
That's two consecutive posts that I agree with you on. If someone's not hacked your account then I need a lie down and a stiff drink!
Zabeletta is a good shout, best RB in the league. I don't think any of the others have a outright claim to being the best in a set position. Can't say Toure is the best AM when already claiming Silva is.
