The problem I have with the article is that he's scored 1 league goal all season. 49 players have scored more league goals than him this season (yes I checked) and we are supposed to believe he is now good enough to lead the line for a team that are aiming to challenge for the title based on the fact he's ran around a little bit and chased a couple of lost causes and got a couple of bounces his way?

I think the article is based on a little more than his league goals return this year. If you'd seen him play v Spurs, City, Bayern and Shalke (all good to very good sides) you'd see he is showing signs of improvement, consistency and form. But then you lot were always fixated on 'facts'.
Can't see why you're so bitter towards him anyway. He was brilliant for you and wanted away to better himself (which he did trophies wise at least). Much like rat boy; but the difference being your board didn't sell this time. Yet you still worship Suarez, who has also dragged Liverpool's name through the mud - which Torres never did. Why?

Everyone knows Torres has been poor and that he's shown odd flashes of his old self. So it's not really worth discussing. Mcnulty tries to say it's the Jose effect yet he's Nando's had a better gtg ratio under Rafa and also picked up a EL winners medal under Rafa and a CL winners medal under RDM so where was McNulty's Rafa and RDM effect articles?

It's called an opinion son. And the proof being that none of our strikers, even drogba (post the 2010 season) banged in loads of league goals - its not just Torres. As I say, we get goals all over so it's not a problem really.
And don't pretend this thread was anything other than another attempt to have snide digs at Torres and Jose as well as the journo.

Torres made one comment about now playing for a 'big' side, that's pretty much all i remember him saying. And clearly he meant a club that could challenge for the big honours - which was true.
Fact is, it's being fickle. Happy to forget the **** Suarez has put you through because he's good and wasn't allowed to leave. People like Sisu wouldn't still be banging on about Torres 3 years on if he wasn't so devastated that he dared leave to come to us.

I know with you being a Chelsea fan you might find this hard to believe, but cheering your team on is more beneficial than booing an individual! Suarez is a ****, but he's out **** and he will continue to be cheered whilst he wears the red shirt. Nothing wrong with supporting your team.

As far as Torres goes, it must be said he is playing slightly better than he has been for the past 2 years.
However, in terms of form I would argue that he is one of the least in-form strikers in the world.
Imagine if he was a player at a low-table team. Let's use Crystal Palace (and I mean no disrespect). Would their fans be happy? No, they'd be pissed off that they wasted millions on him.
For 2 years Abramovich tried anything to make sure Torres had optimal conditions to play and thrive. He never did.
Recently he hasn't been starting, why? Because of Eto'o and the rest. There were matches where Jose didn't even start any strikers. Since then he has come on as a substitute and made a few starts and while his link up play has been good - he still has only one goal to his name in the league.
City aside, how many of his goals were winners? How many were inconsequential? Take the goal against Barca - Chelsea were already through at that stage. He just killed it off in the final minutes. Not the vital goal its made out to be. How many of his goals came against top teams as opposed to teams like Nordsjellaeng (sp?).
I could probably score 4 vs. Tahiti as well.
When you answer all of these you see that any talk of form is microscopic and myopic. "Ignoring all the matches in which he's been useless, and the ones where he's been irrelevant, and the ones he's been awful in, he's actually been average!"

You are totally misreading Sisu if you believe that his feelings regarding Torres is down to the club that he moved to. As far as Chelsea themselves are concerned the whole issue gave us a laugh in terms of your inability as supporters to invent a Torres song for yourselves; the fact that you actually paid the price and the continued downturn in form that he has displayed since his transfer.

It was not opinion it was trolling because Torres is mentioned, but lets face it, this is not my first Mcnulty is talking bollocks thread. It was Mcnulty that mentioned Torres, I just provided some stats on PL form to show McNulty was talking bollocks.
You lot as desperate to see the Torres of old, sure I wouldn't begrudge Chelsea fans that but lets be realistic. he's never shown the Torres of old in 2 and a half years and yet Phil seems to think Jose has done or is doing the job with no evidence to support his ****e. The brilliant spell Torres hadn't liverpool was the best he ever was in his whole career, never matched it before coming to Liverpool or after leaving. It was his peak. But it doesn't matter because if he can stop sulking for 10 minutes he might actually get some form.
Torres poor form is down to one person, Torres. He has sulked 100 times more than played good football in over 3 years. So any good form is down to Torres. I also laugh at the reasoning that Rafa was hired primarily to get Torres firing

.He's obviously not going to come back, but he's definitely due some praise for what he's done so far this season. If he can transfer his european form to the League then we'll have 10+ out of him which is fine by me.
