McNally has been on SSN this afternoon and while he didn't really say anything we didn't already know, I thought this sentence was the best sentence to come from anybody connected with Norwich for quite a while....

Before the sentence I'm talking about, he said this "We are delighted he has loved it here, 70 goals in three seasons, every level of football he has scored at - 15 in the league last year, our captain, our talisman and the fans hero. He has won player of the year three years in a row and that has never been done at this marvellous football club and he is not for sale,"

He followed it with the sentence I am talking about.

"If ever, hypothetically, you were to sell someone with such a record, what is the replacement cost? It is certainly bigger than the total budget that I have seen quoted for the club Lambert is talking to - but Grant Holt is not for sale."<laugh>

Gotta love him.

As long as we have Mcnasty there will always be hope !
I do hope we negotiate a clause like the Swans have so PL can't take our players for at least 12 months!

McNally, however, said none of City’s first team squad, Holt included, was for sale.

Great comment, warn all other clubs about our intention to hold them to ransom

“I’m delighted he’s loved it here. We’ve loved every moment of Grant Holt being here – 70 goals in three seasons,” said McNally.

Hahaha, the guy has a sense of humour with that 1st phrase, lists reason 1 for not accepting Holt's transfer request

“Every level of football he’s played at, he’s scored goals - 17 goals last season, 15 in the Premier League, a couple of Cup goals thrown in, what a fantastic performance from our captain, our talisman, the fans’ hero. He’s won the player of the year three years in succession. That’s never been done here at this marvellous football club.

Reminds Holt that he is indeed the fan's hero, and the captain, so should set an example.

“He’s not for sale, not for sale. If ever hypothetically you were forced into a position to sell somebody with such a record, what’s the replacement cost? It’s certainly bigger than the total budget I’ve seen quoted in relation to the club that Paul Lambert might be talking to, for new money this year. It would be a huge figure. But I stress, for all the Norwich City supporters out there, Grant Holt is not for sale.”

Brilliant barb directed in Lambert's direction, mocking his choice of potentially Villa, and essentially illustrating that their budget is similar in size to ours, and they won't be able to invest heavily, contrary to popular opinion.

That Ladies and Gentlemen, was a defensive masterclass from our CEO.

He's basically saying to villa that yes, they might be the more media recognised club, and yes, that might have swayed Lambert, but if they think we are just going to bend over and take it then they can **** right off!!!

brings tears to the eyes.

"When it was indicated by our manager that he would like the opportunity to speak to this particular club, really the dynamics changed and so it’s then about talking to them about compensation"

McNally's confirmed that Lambert has no future at Norwich then. <whistle>

Hilarious comment down below: "I think a trained chimp could have won the scottish league last season with Celtic so Lennon has no credentials for job in Premier League"

<laugh><cheers>

Didn't he go further than that and say we're looking for a new manager?

why do you think that's legendary? By no stretch of anyone's imagination is Holt worth more than £5m so to value him at £25m, the guy has lost the plot?
