I'd guess/I'm hoping that NP, Walshy and Shakey have something up their sleeves. But the fact that there's a silence about signings would appear to follow NP's normal modus operandi: announce nothing until it's signed (take note PB).

Meanwhile, us fans run around like headless chickens, starved of either info or clues.....<yikes>

I'd have like to have kept Matt Duke, I thought he was a good No 2.

Of course, I'm such a good manager that professional clubs are vying for my services.

Gardner has never been good enough imo. Oh yeah everyone form the old regimes really crap. You never saw me sticking up for the likes of zayatte, cousin or kilbane...
He may have an england cap but that doesn't mean he's any good. Matthew Upson and Wes Brown have several ffs simply because they've managed to stay in the top flight for so long (although I don't fecking see how).

King was one of the better ones, but headbutting Deano was not the best option!

To be fair to Wes Brown, you've gotta be doing something right if you're at Man Utd for that long. Upson isn't England standard (I wouldn't say no to him here though).

I always thought Gardner was slightly better than Turner, but that you'd always pick Turner instead because of Gardner's fitness issues. Don't shoot me, but I think since our early Premiership days Turner has become overrated and Gardner has become underrated.

At the time I thought Gardner and Turner was a good potential pairing.

Well I hear he has a phd in arse licking which could explain something...
Turner imo is fitter, stronger, a better tackler, reads the game better, better in the air, more consistent and overall just better than gardner. If he was any good he'd've been signed by a premier league club when we got relegated.

Didn't we all love it when the Duffman-Brown gruesome twosome, in blind panic, sold him for fourpence to the Mackems?

Did we ****! Wish we'd kept him....

I agree with you there. But...we should never have been in that position. (Must've been AP's fault!)

Anthony Gardner is the biggest pile of **** I've ever seen in a City shirt and I'm almost certain I'll never loathe a player so much. If you watch a goals montage from the 09/10 season, or the early past of this season before he left, he was at fault for almost every goal. Everything that should be a strength for a defender (marking, heading, bravery, tackling, etc.) are massive weaknesses in Gardner's game. Just because he is injured a lot, that doesn't mean he's any good when he is fit.

OK I posted this before reading the full debate. Now I see Percy is claiming that our worst player of the noughties decade was better than our best player of the decade.

What the actual ****?! This just offends me, Turner was and is a quality defender, Gardner is 100% utter gash.

Gardner and Zayette come into the same bracket, good players but they both couldn't give a **** about us at the end, thanks to Brownie and Duffman for not researching them a bit better before signing them, the reason players like them, Bullard King and Mendy were attainable for the club was because they were all category A Bell-Ends.

They're both quality, I just think when Gardner was fit, he was better.

Unfortunately I misclicked and saw Percys post, he is right Gardner was a good player but whats the point of that if your an arrogant a-hole who doesn't perform to earn your over-inflated wages.

I've never heard any stories of Gardner being arrogant, no doubt one will appear in a minute...
