You need to give McCoist a full season. Come Xmas Europe will be well behind the OF and both sets of fans will concentrate on the SPL. I have no doubt that Ally will be on a level playing field with Lennon, and it will go to the wire again.

What get's me about the reports of last night in the newspapers, and also the rants of some fans, is the posistive message that Rangers got an away goal. An away goal in Europe is very positive and puts you in the driving for the return leg at home.

From what I have been told 3rd hand, is that when Myth was in charge, the cheek chappy was all about fun and back patting with the players

I have backed Rangers twice in the last the few weeks, in the mistaken belief that they must be better than these mickey mouse teams they are playing. Maribor are Slovenain Champions but have an entire wage bill of around £8,000 per week - probably under half what Steven Whittaker is on alone.

So when looking at these stats, and seeing the Slovenian league is actually rated lower in UEFA coefficients than the Republic of Ireland league I think the huns must be a bet at 17/10, against a team which is paying the same wages as Queen of the South.

Twice I've been proven wrong now, and both times I've been cheering Rangers on hoping for them to win. It's with this background I can firmly say that both times McCoist has got his tactics wrong, none more so than in Slovenia. Did anyone see with 10 minutes to go, Rangers on the edge of Maribor's box and they managed to pass it (via about 3 passes) back to McGregor? I knew then they were under instruction to bore the game out. It's fairly evident that Ally is trying to pick up straight where Walter left off - only he's not as good at it.

Ally is a big boy he doesn't need me or anyone else defending him

I'd focus more on your own manager if I was you, surely by now he's only 1 bad result away from a mental breakdown. Sion on Thursday could be the one, could be 3 European ties played and 0 won
