Maybe a bit of both. Probably a case of me being happy with Mick since day one, right man for the job and the amount of stick he's received off a lot of people. Not just on here I hasted to add, TWTD also. 24 months in = done quite the job. Just very happy with how things are going right now, that's all. Perhaps trivial but meh!
Despite not playing the most exciting brand of football lets just savour the moment. We're 2nd. We're not losing much. But we're bloody 2nd. Mick we know isn't everyone's cup of tea but quite frankly if we end up in the prem next season I'll take what we've got. Only a couple of years ago we looked certs to be going the wrong way out the league but MM came in steadied the ship and we've improved season on season. He may be limited tactics wise but we seem to have a plan to nullify most teams right now. So personally I'm going to continue to enjoy where we are and where we may end up.
Likewise I have always expressed appreciation for how MM has turned the Club around but have called for a more adventurous approach, which we now seem to be seeing.
I actually quite like looking at older threads and seeing how opinions have changed over time and how things that we have said that come to pass or not, we have all I'm sure said things that have been proven wrong with time there is nothing to be precious about that's just football, we as fans often don't have all the information but we like to have a say which is why this site is good. Case in point...this time last year I'm sure I was saying that Mings would not make it as a footballer.....and now I'm not sure there is any limit to how high he can go, he is looking like an amazing find and the speed of his progression and development I can't think of any player that has come so far in such a short time........ever.
I was at Felixstowe when Mings played in a Senior cup game for Town (it may well have been his first game) I did come away wondering if MM had made a mistake on that one.!
Still sooooooo mixed about Mings! He has the attributes to be a fantastic player for sure. He does make a lot of very basic mistakes with the ball which I hope he can cut out. That said, Matt Ritchie didn't destroy him at Bournemouth and he did alright second half at Charlton I thought... seems to be progressing!
Great ball to Didsys for our winner and unlucky with his right foot effort when he cut in from the left side of the box!
The charlton game was a prime example on how raw a talent he really is, At times he played like a top international when covering the cb's (especially that second half one) and going forward he delivered some great crosses, but he did have that spell in the second half (probably 10/15 mins) when he lost his way a little, but fair do's to the kid he pulled himself together at the end.
