Second half tactics and subs were bloody dire, results are everything but a better team would have rescued a point from that display in the 2nd half.

Mick might not have made those particular substitutions against a different team, every game brings it's own strategy.

I agree Hoppers but it's all about the result and to be fair we weren't in any real danger of conceding! You could see that the boys were playing within themselves but after the enormous display against Wigan it would be harsh to criticise for that! The game was won and we conserved energy for the Tuesday night game.

Yeah agreed very poor second half today but job done and 3 points in the bag.

We're still not clicking for 90 minute periods whatsoever but right now it's very much about getting points on the board.

4th after 9 games, absolutely delighted and I really think this lot have a very good chance of top 6 this season. COME ON!

Fair comment SD, I pretty sure that MM was already thinking about next Sunday as soon as the second went in early doors today, was just so bloody poor watching that second half display!

Very pleased with results so far but what I don't get is our second half tactics when we are leading, ok its worked so far but its only a matter of time before a better team punishes us. We are at our best when we play at a high tempo and intensity, this sitting back and conceding possession to the opposition is fraught with danger but I don't see why it has to be this way.

I don't think we can realistically play at such a high tempo for 90 minutes Fieldmarshall, we need more possession to do so.

Also, at 2-0 with an away game Tuesday I see little point in trying to get 3/4/5. Rotherham offered very little second half.

If we were playing against a better team we may have seen different tactics but I agree that trying to defend a lead normally leads to you coming unstuck at some point.

Agree with you SD,Rotherham were there for the taking and I'd have liked to see us put them to the sword.Second half was pretty dire and Rotherham had a couple of slight sniffs at getting back in the game (one fumble by Gerks and the bad free kick Berra conceded which was closer to the edge of our box than the ref gave).Still, mustn't bang on about performances when the results keep rolling in.

Fair points Westy and SD, lets hope against better teams like the two games coming up we show attacking intent and don't try to defend for the whole match.

Why the hell are we starting to dig out 2 months dead threads? Is it some childish point scoring attempt or just pointless goading?
Sorry but I just don't see the point.

I can't see why we just can't enjoy this brief moment of success, whether we agree with mick or not, the fact remains we are on course to get promoted.

Thing is for me anyway, there are current threads which can do the same with current viewpoints on. Bringing up posts from the past just seem wanting to start unnecessary arguments. After a couple of games this season I seem to recall the initial emotions of most was that we had the wrong guy in charge. Hence on this thread the 3rd post (/by me) was suggesting how the majority of us could be labelled fickle. If you really need to go through backdated sniping to enjoy the current position then I can only see this forum decending into chaos.

TB you're a great poster and I like your posts as they always give an honest opinion which sometimes I don't agree with but that's fine as you don't always agree with me. At the end of the day this is just a forum and shouldn't be used as a point scoring exercise and you are dead right that as soon as old posts and threads get dug up from the past it will end to conflict which is unnecessary. This forum is a snap shot of what Town fans are thinking in the here and now. On the whole I believe that I have been hugely supportive of MM ever since he arrived but yes I have been critical at times. Surely the vast majority of us can now see the bigger picture emerging?

Weighty and myself have never lost faith in MM.

Although I have questioned his tactics and team selection a couple of times, I would suggest that is a fans right isn't it?
