Sky are bastards predicting the news.

If GM leaving wasn’t already rubber stamped, with an agreed compo package in place, last November it could maybe look like the new owner thinks a 10 point cushion gives enough legroom to get a new man in, who’ll have time to find his feet, add to the squad to help consolidate our current position, assess the current players, target new signings for the Summer & be best prepared to push on next season.

Reminds me of when it was thought we could sell Bowen and Grosicki as there was no risk of relegation..

Yes, 'all over the internet' doesn't make it news. The HDM were headlining on Sunday afternoon that Grant McCann has been sacked. He hadn't, no-one had spoken to him and no-one was in the position to sack him either. They could have suggested it or asked the question but to headline that he has been sacked was disgraceful and showed a total lack of respect to him.
No matter how some feel about McCann he was at that time still the manager of our club and deserved to be told of his fate before reading it on Hull Live.
He has showed great respect himself throughout all of this and carried on with his duties, as has Cliff Byrne. I know it's expected in football etc etc but if the club hadn't announced that the manager was leaving the local rag shouldn't have done either until it was official, if only out of respect and nothing else.

He was spoken to and agreed a compo package last November.

Maybe if we’d changed the Manager then, or a little later when it became apparent he wasn’t up to the task it may have reduces the risk.

At the time he'd taken us to a point off the play offs, so in fairness there was no indication he wasn't up to it. By the time it was apparent we were into COVID.

You saying HT2 lied on numerous occasions or he deliberately misled the board?
Why would he lie or deliberately mislead the board ? HT2. like everyone on here ( I think anyhow) is a Hull City supporter and maybe had contacts around the club who tell him bits and bobs, but thing changes by the hour and sometimes the information they have isn't what they thought. That's not deliberately misleading someone or a lie. Its gossip,
Why are you so intent of making an issue of this and particularly HT2 ?

Maybe if some of the players had of played for the manager and the club instead of going though the motions we might have won enough points to stop up ?

There's a reasonable chance,a high probability that that's correct? However, and this is the important part,McCann(irrespective of your personal thoughts on him),deserves to be told by his employer that it's finally over, not read it in the local rag?

You come across as a man of scruples,an admirable quality. The HDM came across as factually and morally wrong on this occasion!!

Soooooo anywhooo IS Grant actually gone or did he turn up and take training again this morning?
'Turn up' ? As he's turned up every other day for training why should he not 'turn up' today ? I believe Monday is a day off so the first chance the new Director of Football will have had to speak to Grant face to face would, no doubt be today. He will be relieved of his duties and the new manager will be announced by the club as soon as they are ready too.

Do you expect Grant to leave ?

How can - GM knows he is on his way, has been spoken to & is happy with the compo - change to “he hasn’t been spoken to”?

You can’t have it both ways.

In this instance it was HT2 that was adamant GM had been spoken to & he had been given the go ahead to release the info but now says GM hasn’t been spoken to & because of this the BBC were wrong to reveal it at the weekend.

What’s your opinion on the suggestion that people may have knowingly put incorrect info on the board with the deliberate intent of misleading the posters?

Because according to this thread, and the local press, he was let go yesterday.

So is he still our coach this morning or not?
