And the bit where we give a ****?

You stated about Orwell. Then came up with the stuff about spotting grammatical errors and not giving a ****babiut that. Two separate things.

Anyway, you going on Saturday? Looking forward to it?

Genuinely shocked at the outpouring of love on social media etc for McCann . Not saying he deserves abuse or anything like that , it was a nice statement and wish him no bad feeling personally , but some of the comments Ive read , thanks for leaving us in the position you have , isn’t that pretty much where he found us? People acting like he dragged us from non league …Maybe it’s just the general good feeling around the takeover making everyone nice, but I find it bit OTT personally , bordering on sickly.

I agree but still better than some of the ridiculous abuse he has got in the past

I wonder if it's from the same people

I remember as a 6 or 7 year old, thinking I was devilishly clever coming up with ‘the dog chewed my homework’ all by myself. Which to be fair I had. I just hadn’t realised every other child ever to exist had also thought of it.
I used it once and we didn’t even have a dog! I’m not joking either!

slightly different. my lads school would not allow the pupils to get take away for their lunch. he bought a bag of chips from the chippy anyway he was caught by a teacher walking back into school whilst munching them. anyway his excuse was some bloke just came out of a bush and gave them to me as we were walking back to school and I was just holding them. the teacher told us his excuse was so bad but bloody inventive and it just cracked him up, so he could not tell him off.

Just another example of how fickle some can be.
I'd guess several were, only a few weeks earlier, even joining in or at least approving of the 'sacked in the morning' chants aimed at him.
Fickleness and very short memories.
I wish him well, and acknowledge that he managed to pull 2 incredible, valuable results out the bag somehow in his final games,, but also glad he's gone and we have a fresh start for this exciting new era.

That's really unfair.

Firstly, when dozens of posts are deleted, you don't see them and have no idea what led to the action being taken if the first place.

Secondly, when people report posts, it reports them to every moderator on the site, not just us. When a poster generates half a dozen reports in a short period of time, it irritates the other moderators and if it irritates the supermods, it can lead to a site ban that we can't control.

Often these things are about damage limitation.

This seems like a flaw in the way this site is set up? Most other forums I'm on a report is only sent to the moderators for that particular board, as it would make no sense to send it to a moderator who has no power on that board.

Someone claimed he had left his book on the top of the goldfish tank and it fell in and the goldfish ate it. Unlike the Eagle story the teacher didn't find it inventive and he gotvdetentionnfor stretching his incredulity. Didn't get homework at 6 or 7. These will have been 13 or 14.<laugh>

I am of an age that by 13 or 14 we would just say “I couldn’t be bothered to do it sir and there’s nowt you can do about it”.
