I thought that before he signed, but after a few performances he changed my mind, he is however slipping in to what I believed he was and maybe it is that he has no one to challenge him and is guaranteed to start. he does need to lift himself for me as well, loads of ability, his head is right and he is an asset, if not he looks average, but whatever he is, he is an upgrade on Neil Taylor.I watched Olssen closely in the second half v WHU as he was on my side of the pitch, he is lazy, had multiple chances for the overlap but just stood and watched, was very disappointed in him in that regard
how many players have been able to score loads in the Championship but cant do it in the PL. maybe happy to give him one more season, but just don't think he will be given the opportunity if we sign a new striker next season. as for his age he is 22 in june so not a youngster nowadays.I wouldn't sell Mcburnie because I think he's shown and he is showing for Barnsley that he has the potential to step up with luck in a similar way that Kane has for Spurs. Bartley is ok as our fourth choice CB..We need to strengthen in other positions such as left back and the flanks and we need to give Andy King a contract. We may need another midfielder. as well. This is where I think any funds would be better spent whichever league we are in. Regrettably I think it's time to say farewell and thanks as players to Leon, Rangel and Routledge. I also feel that Carroll is too inconsistent as well.
I actually agree with the second part of that.People are underestimating what an asset McBurnie is. The lad has not been given much of a chance with us really and was down the pecking order anyway but when he did play he did well. .His loan spell has shown him to be a good striker and in today's Market could be valued at £8m - £10m so if we are not going to use him which is a shame then rather than loaning him out we should mabe think about cashing him in and putting the money towards another proven premiership striker..
While I partially agree with that what proven PL strikers are out there available. Another LB to me is a priority and I suspect there won't be massive transfer funds available so we have to make best use of them£10m so if we are not going to use him which is a shame then rather than loaning him out we should mabe think about cashing him in and putting the money towards another proven premiership striker..
and the deadwood being????? Dyer, Routledge, Fer, Carroll, the 100 players we have out on loan? They spent £60m not to be sniffed at but we need more than that next season if we survive and a Striker is a priority imo....We will of course need other positions also and i hope we can offload the deadwood...
