First of all, he's not a crock, he's had one long term injury and has come back fine so far. You can't write someone off every time they get a serious injury.

Secondly if we're not willing to pay £5m for a striker then I'm afraid we're most likely going to be left with average strikers. Again, we have the money to spend so I'll be baffled if we don't spend it.

We've already had Yakubu turn us down, Nugent may or may not have ditched us as well - we surely have no choice but to pay what we have to pay?

I'm struggling to see what other options we have at the moment.
 
I'd be happy for us to bid 5-6m if he does sign a new contract with BC, but if he doesn't, 5m+ seems a bit excessive for a player that will be worth nothing next summer, especially in the Championship.

Unless the owners really are prepared to throw silly money about like Man City have done in the Prem to capture their players.
 
I for one don't think the Maynard or Yak saga is over, I think BC will keep maynard then he will leave for free next year (They will do what Blackpool did with Adam and make him stay even though he wants to leave).

As for the Yak I think he will be Yakadybak at Leicester before the end of the summer; Its all gone a little to quiet for my liking so I think there is something going on behind the scenes.

Whatever happens I trust Sven to make the right choices :-)

To be fair we are a small club....

-We've got no history
-We haven't ever won ny trophys
-We struggled to get out of L1
-We've had no world class managers
-Our GK record has been dire apart from last season when we FINALLY had someone decent in between the sticks
-Our stadium wouldn't look out of place on the set of Emmerdale
-We're poor
-AND nobody is scared of us this season

We'll be among the 'also ran' this year. I wish we was like BCFC....Hmmmm :\
