They do mate and it pisses me off big style. But then the government allow them to do it. The DWP has virtually no communication with healthcare specialists. They'll use a GP at appeal stage but they're so easy to blag as most GPs haven't done any mental health training and when they do(as now they get it as part of their doctorate) It's been critizised as being not fit for purpose.
I mean, this should aply to physical as well as mental health. If you're really not fit for work. Surely it would entail specilist treatment byond the capability of a General Practicioner.
If I ran this government I'd get rid of Atos and their farce medicals which are tailored for physical illness, I'd bypass the GPs and I'd make so that anybody going for a disability benefit must be under referral to a specialist to even have the form looked at and processed and I'd go to the specialist for their professional opinion whether the claimant can work. I guarantee it would flush out thousands of cheats and save the country millions, possible billions. But the Tories would rather tar everybody with the same brush, contract in private healthcare companies to carry out medicals with targets to fail people regardless of whether they're actually ill or not, than actually think about how to deal with it fairly. It's just gung ho reckless toffs not really thinking about what they're doing.

Not very well mate. It is all correct apart from the big gap in the midfle. Where i worked up ftom being a picker to a stock controller mananager at a huge tesco dustrubution centre. Who then left there to ho and make nicrochips at siemens on silerlink near the tyne tunnel.. if we can add in nissann and virtually everyone of its supply line (i have no patience). Then obviously missing out quite a few.

I returned to sunderland and bought s big 3 bed semi with cons ext.. I put rhe money down and had a mortage of 20k.
Things happened. House sold for 118 years back.....Thet went to frogland.
I bought another (literally 5min ealk ftom the SOL)
I first came here on a holiday ti meet about 15 marines on leave from afghan. With one of their dads
I guess i kept on going. I went on the piss for 5years, bucking every bit of fanny. (Wont even talk about numbers)
Got offered a job. Didnt know if i wanted it. But took it. Sold the final house i sunderland.
Took a job as a manager if an import food shop. Up north of the country.
Lasted a year. Before i wanted to kill him. So i fu ked off or else i would have.
I went home. Nov 2010 I was there days before i got a call about another job SAFC v Everton was the last game i saw dec 2010.
Flew out the next day ti start as manager of a buildibg company. Fot some gooner now my best mate.
5 years next week. Im doing well.

Some are more open than others. Although I enjoy a bit crack about my football club I find those that share their lives with the rest of us fascinating.
As you know, I've always been pretty open about my life, (remember the Janie threads all those years ago?), but there are some things I choose to keep quiet. I trust you to bits mate & sometimes might pm you as I know you wont say owt.
Sometimes I enjoy people watching. Was in the bar of Glasgow central station one time & was just fascinated at all the people coming & going.
I've told you things I've not even told my drinking buddies, Joe too, he knows things about me.
When you think about it there's some ****ing topper folk on here.

Part of me yearns for a so called nornal life. But i guess thats not u was put here for. I have s wife and another brautiful baby girl here. They have a nice big new house. While i live in an apattment near the sea.

I've put/am putting 3 kids through school and the parenting and the school's input go hand in hand in my experience. If the parents take bugger all interest it's all down to the school. If the school's not doing a good job it's up to the parents to fight their kid's corner. Seen both from the various schools the kids have been through and the fact remains that kids are leaving school without a mastery of the basic skills they need. Nothing to do with the "spelling police", just a (sad) fact...

well school has a massive impact too, but you must notice if your kid is struggling/flagging or whatever so you need to do something about it, even if the school can't.
My kid is only 1, today in fact, so I've yet to deal with any of that. But I'll do my utmost to make sure he gets a good education and applies himself.
I crashed on a mates floor after Uni, so never signed on. Worked through Uni for extra cash, too. took what jobs I could in the recession and eventually found my feet. Took a while, I was a bit of a useless **** for a good few year, on the lash+++, not really guving a ****, trying to put my demons behind me.
But I am in a good place now, so I hope I can make it last a good while longer. You never know what's round thr corner though, so best make the most of it.
I have nee time for useless slackers, but hate over-ambitious, greedy ****s too.
My brother is a grafter, he knows nothing but hard work. He's thick as **** though, academically ******ed. He's fantastic with his hands, and he's made a living from being a scruffy brickie and then onto his own company that his accountant runs and he just grafts with the lads.
He can't even help his 7 year old son with his homework because he's out of his depth, but he provides for his family.

Sounds like my older brother - The scaffolder
Barely see him as he always works away, asks for 7 - 12hr shifts before he'll go as well. Started when he was 13 on the newspapers, then worked his way up to working on the milk float and getting out of bed at 4:30am when he was 14, on a school morning. It's all he knows, he grafts his way through life and I have to help him with his mortgage etc, because it is way over his head.
