So you're pointing out clear mistakes, on top of the ones that I've already highlighted, yet still want to go with those figures?Have you made sure that you are checking with the right parameters ? The transfermarkt site defaults to transfer and loan fee spending, which might explain the difference you are picking up on. One of the reasons for the discrepancies between for the 07/08 figures between transferleague and transfermarkt is that one has Darren Bent having been signed the season before, whilst the other has him being signed in 07/08. If the totals are added up for the same season with the same players signed, then they both come in at around £62m.
Regardless, when you add up the total transfer spending, both sites clearly have Spurs way ahead of Arsenal. I've provided figures, and whilst I agree there might be some discrepancies, the overall point they both conclude is that Arsenal's spend is well below that of Spurs. If anybody can provide credible figures that contradict this, then post them here.
The original claim however, was that HIAG claimed that 'Wenger has spent far more than us' on transfers, so it is incumbent on him to provide the evidence that he is using to make this claim.
That makes no sense whatsoever. There are loads of mistakes, but it suits what you've claimed. It's that simple.
You know that the relevant figure is wages and it's one that entirely accurate, too.
You don't want to include it, as it doesn't suit your argument.
