At what point does he pass the point of no return and get ditched by the club from his ambassador role? This isn't a debate of whether his legacy is ruined by his views, as that's an individual choice, but in the modern world where the club is a 'brand' then he's so far off it then he's surely reaching the point where the club will be forced into a decision? He's completely ****ing lost it. Skeptism about lockdown is one thing, but to get to the point where you're insuinating that Bill Gates has had the president of Tanzania assassinated is absolutely batshit. Surely at some point this will reflect on the club itself given his association?
It’s a good question. He’s past that point now. Can’t hold the position of an ambassador for anything with the ridiculous crap he’s been posting. It’s sad and bizarre how this stuff keeps happening to people.
I personally love the idea that Bill Gates and co killed an African president just after they wrote a piece in the guardian about how dangerous he is. Did they read their own article and then suddenly realise that it would be better to just take him out? Maybe there was a breakdown in internal comms and press was writing the article without realising black ops was in the middle of an assassination operation. I bet Bill rolled his eyes and laughed at that little mixup.
Sadly, IMO he has tarnished all the good will he has built one the years. SRL seems to be going the same way so soon I'll have no No7 heroes left. Except maybe Andrei Kanchelskis or Tomasz Hajto or maybe Kevin Phillips. PS: Welcome back @Libby don't forget to get your cheese puns in.
This is the only social media I use mate, and it's not a big thing for me personally as he was largely before my time. Point I'm making though is that he's an official club ambassador, and he's surely close to crossing the line of what's acceptable in terms of what views the club will want to be associated with? I'm almost certain it was a big factor in him leaving Sky and he's got far worse since then.
Agreed. I've actually just red his twitter feed for the first time in ages and it is like he purposely trying to self destruct.
I don’t do Twitter, Instagram or Facebook so I genuinely have no idea wtf Matty has been saying, except when people tell me. Maybe someone should take his phone away and lock it in a draw. Meanwhile, this...
I'm not on Twitter but had a text from a mate last night telling me to search his name and was baffled by how far gone he is. There is some absolute gold on there as well tbf, two of my favourites being:
'His' (in his own words when I worshipped him and met him) was v Blackburn. I preferred the second one in that game, or maybe the free kick v Wimbledon.
I had a DVD where he said the Blackburn one too, though iirc, it was mainly down to Flowers being in goal for them.
