OK so i was told by Simon Bird at the Mirror that Mathieu Debuchy is on Twitter. Cabaye has also verified his account @MathieuDebuchy I skimmed through some of his tweets and found some interesting tweets.

"If newcastle united sign up Douglas, Teixeira, Luuk de Jong and a few others im not gonna lie im getting overly exited about the next season ahead"

But

(I dont speak french) His latest tweets seems to say hes happy Marvin Marin has signed a new deal at Lille and hes also happy Kalou has joined them. this tweet was less then 24 hours ago. so maybe he is staying at Lille.

These are just tweets by the way, and you can make of them what you want just thought id share the tweets if people missed them.

lol fooled me as well, I was googling Teixeira and found a young attacking midfielder at Shaktar...

Good find Platinum...It might be nothing, but we want him, he wants to come to us and it looks like Lille are resigned to losing him...Its just a case of ironing out the wrinkles and he'll be in in black n white (fingers crossed anyway)

Its so obvious its a fake twitter account. During the Euros he tweeted something and on twitter it said he was tweeting from South America.

He apparently tweeted while taking a throw in

@NUFCThreatLevel The Debuchy account followed us back whilst he was taking a throw in against Ukraine on Friday. Multi-tasking.

apparently one of the following is happening.

Bosingwa is signing for Lille opening a move to materialise for Debuchy

or

Debuchy has signed a new deal with a 1 Year extension.

Cwarr says that we have almost signed him so you know what that means!

It is being reported that Debuchy has signed a new deal with Lille extending his contract by 1 year. If this is true and he has done a u-turn on wanting to leave. Where does this leave our full back situation? I am presuming the vast majority of people on here would like to see Santon playing at Right back! But who would you like to see at Left-Back? There is no one in the current squad i'd really like to rely on. So does this mean we have another look at Cissoko, Sakho or possibly Clyne and leave Santon at Left-Back?

There is a contrasting report that Bosingwa has just signed for Lille as well and if this is true then I can't see how Debuchy would be staying put at Lille.

For me we must play Santon right back. Afterall that is his preferred and natural role. As for left backs, notoriously difficult to find good ones. We had one of the best in the league not so long ago! I've always liked Cissokho since I saw him at Porto so I wouldn't be against him. Then again I haven't seen him play in well over a year and a lot can change.

I'm not really sure what options are out there but I'm sure Carr has a few options up his sleeve. I know I'm probably alone but I'm not bothered about Debuchy. I think he is a cracking player but I think Santon will end up the better right back.

he certainly has youth on his side compared to Debuchy and I don't see them being too far apart right now in terms of ability. Would be nice to have the pair but I don't wanna spend too much on him. If only Enrique had stayed :emoticon-0120-doh:

Just one of those situations. I find it amusing with those who sit armed with hindsight saying "you see Jose, wrong move". Reality is it was probably a sensible move at that time. Liverpool looked a club with money going places. We were employing a risky strategy which heaped a massive amount of pressure on Graham Carr. Fortunately for us he was up to the task. Many of the same people sitting worrying then are the same ones being smug with him later!

I like Debuchy but I'm more interested in us signing players who are best suited to improving us. With that in mind a left back (for balance and Santon moving into a more natural role) would be preferable. Did Villareal not get relegated. They had a fairly useful left back I watched last season called Joan Oriol. That said it was really the attacking side of his game which impressed so maybe not the way to go.

****e. There's a pattern here....
We go in for a player... Press find out.... Price goes up... We pull out.....
I can feel my piss boiling...
Contrast with last season where we had a rake load of players signed by now..

The money just isn't about at the moment. I think we'll do ok at the end of the day.
