For some strange reason, I am quite optimistic about the Burton game tonight - got a gut feeling that we will come away with all 3 points, and keep our push to safety rolling along. Burton's best form seems to be away from home recently, and they are very inconsistent in their home games, not that we are any better in the consistency league! This is a typical '6 pointer' and I just have a feeling that JB will have them suitably fired up not to lose tonight and hopefully, nick a couple of goals. probably against the run of play. Hope my optimism isn't borne by hope and desperation but we will all know if I'm talking total boll***s by 10.00pm tonight!
And that, my friends, is why I haven't retired on my bookies winnings from predicting football results! --- I bleedin' well give up!!!

Im doing my utmost best not to be negative about Barton.

So instead, I will be negative towards the board, which is very unlike me. We've sacked 2 managers. The 2nd manager (Tisdale) I thought shouldn't have even got the job but what do I know. The 2 managers this season had put us in deep trouble. So we needed a manager who can save us. Instead we bring in a manager (I won't mention his demons here) who has only managed 1 club and never experienced a relegation battle as a manager. So far he has lost against Wigan and now Burton. Both 6 pointers. Yes he may end up saving us but he is the wrong man for the job and the board has royally messed it up with the change of dna and the appointment of the last 3 managers. They have to take the blame.

Oh well. Im saving a lot of money by not using ifollow.

At least I have 3 points in the prediction league :emoticon-0148-yes:

AFC 1 point behind us with a game in hand. Our next 2 games are Hull in 2nd place and Accrington in 8th place after we lose those two our new manager can prepare for life in league 2 because with only 2 shots out of 9 on target we are not going to score enough goals to win the matches to keep us up

We would be 7 points clear now had we beaten these 2 teams. Imagine where we would be if we didn't somehow beat Portsmouth and Shrewsbury recently.

I don't understand why Ayunga isn't starting games. He showed what he can do v Portsmouth and Sheff U. He's a right handful for defences.
To be honest, there's an awful lot of things I don't understand about Bristol Rovers at the moment - how have we ended up with such an unbalanced squad, why did we miss every opportunity we had to acquire a decent striker, how the heck did we allow Garner to sell his Premiership style ideas to a ramshackle 3rd tier club that ultimately put us in the position we now find ourselves in, and what's the easiest way to travel to teams in division 2, cos that's what we need to know next season, barring a major miracle or an act of God (or both!)

Development squad beat Bournemouth 2 - 1. Harry Warwick and Josh Hare penalty responding to an O'Connell goal for Bournemouth

I can't see anything but a Hull win tomorrow.

Tomorrows fixtures involving the bottom 7 teams.

Accrington (8th) vs Swindon (19th)
Blackpool (13th) vs Wimbledon (21st)
Burton (18th) vs Peterborough (1st)
Hull (2nd) vs Rovers (20th)
Northampton (22nd) vs Portsmouth (5th)
Sunderland (4th) vs Rochdale (23rd)
Wigan (24th) vs MK Dons (15th)

I think Swindon and Wimbledon will win.
I think Wigan will draw.
I think Burton, Rovers, Northampton and Rochdale will lose.

If I am right... it doesn't look good!

18th.... Swindon.............. 34 pts
19th..... Wimbledon......... 32 pts
20th.... Burton................. 31 pts
-------------------------------------
21st..... Rovers................. 30 pts
22nd.... Northampton..... 29 pts
23rd.... Rochdale............. 28 pts
24th..... Wigan................. 28 pts

Burton and Wimbledon have 2 games in hand on the other teams in bottom 7, apart from Rovers. They have just the 1 game in hand on Rovers and Rovers have 1 game in hand on the others. If we lose this game in hand and Burton and Wimbledon win their games in hand, all of a sudden, the 7 teams currently in a relegation battle turns into 5 teams and 4 get relegated! How on earth will we survive!!

Unfortunately CJS I have to agree with you Next game after Hull is Accrington and we all remember what happened the last time we met. I think the Board should be prepared for league 2 football and our manager should be looking as to who will stay that he wants to stay and try to get us back up at the first attempt. I can only see league 2 football for next season

According to Bristol Live Zain Walker and Pablo Martinez have been promoted to the Rovers 1st team squad. Martinez loan ended when Oxford City season was curtailed he made 9 appearances for them. they both put in good performances in the development squad game in the week with JB and his staff watching

3 defeats in 4 games when we lose on Tuesday against Accrington then hopefully we will look for a manager that will play more than 1 striker in games that we have to win to stay in this league. Now in the bottom 4

I've had a lovely bike ride with the kids. Saved £10. And predicted a Hull win in the prediction league <ok>
That's a far more productive and satisfying way to spend a Saturday afternoon, that listening /watching the inevitable unfold in front of your eyes. I think most if not all of us are probably resigned to our fate this season, no harm in hoping for a miracle - stranger things have happened and as long as it's mathematically possible, there's always hope! However, I find myself expecting a defeat most games nowadays, so when it happens, I'm not shocked or surprised, like earlier in the season. Guess it's a form of self-preservation!

Difficult to believe isn't it Swindon losing Northampton drawing out of the bottom 4 if the results stay the same

Nicholson gets the 3rd Rovers 3 - 0

Westbrooke gets the 4th Rovers 4 - 0 Accrington
