BG said 3 strikers enough as we had Nicholson and JML who can play as strikers and we have youth too. I understood his point.

But all 3 strikers injured. Where is JML? And youth strikers loaned out.

2 shots on target 1 kicked off the line the other saved and there was only 13 minutes played that's got to be an improvement hasn't it

IMO 3 strikers was never enough - 2 of them had never scored in an EFL match.

We’ve got the two smallest players on the pitch up front - I bet we’ll start hoofing it up to them shortly!

There’s even players like Rudy Gestede without a club. Normally a player like that wouldn’t look at us twice but surely we can offer someone a contract until the end of the season?

It’s a bloody miracle! I’ll obviously have to eat humble pie if we end up winning this - but it’s just rather crazy that we don’t have any strikers on the pitch.

IF we win this, it will only be because Wigan are somehow worse.

They have lost 4 in a row and only scored 9 all season and 5 of those were from 1 player who has left to go to Italy.

Neither side have a recognised striker on the pitch. So maybe we have a chance to win or maybe it has 0-0 written all over it.

I still cant help but feel that Westbrooke instead of Upson would make us way more positive going forward and we would have a chance of winning. Even have Walker on the pitch too. We need to be more positive on the pitch. Until we are, us fans will remain negative.

In 2 games we've played 2 very out of form sides - Swindon and Wigan. If we can't beat these teams, we are in serious trouble. So far, we haven't scored in either of these games. And we've looked our best in these 2 games when Westbrooke was on the pitch and that was the last 15 mins vs Swindon but Upson is the chosen one.

Lets hope they are we might just get 3 points then providing the dont get a free kick which they put into the box

Having gone to four at the back we do appear to be defending better than with 3 at the back

Trust me, watching paint dry would be the better option on Saturday when we faced Swindon. Waste of £10 that was. Tonight im only willing to listen and my ears are already bleeding. We are just not positive enough against a team who are there for the taking. Its like we are too scared to attack in case we concede.

With no strikers, our best chance to score is by a set piece. It is that simple.

So taller players would have been good tonight. 3 CB's should have been the right call for the extra tall bodies in the box but no, Just the 2 CB's.

And don't forget our best set piece taker is on the bench.

Where is the common sense from the team selectors?

We’ve managed four shots on target this half so we’re creating chances but with no strikers those chances aren’t going in......so far.

Yes. Commen sense is a requirement. The ability to get the basics right is a definite requirement. If you have no strikers available, it means we have to be creative elsewhere. Set pieces will be our best chance. We lost on Saturday in a poor game by 2 poor teams - by a set piece. So if we want to win, lets have some common sense, lets get the basics right. Play your best set piece taker and give that player the best chance of creating something by sticking players on the pitch who can attack set plays. If we don't want to win then play defensive and try to not lose the game instead. Unfortunately we have gone down the defensive negative route instead of the creative positive route. It is that simple.

If no strikers available.... do the basics right...

    1) Play creative players who can win free kicks.
    2) Play your best set piece taker.
    3) Play taller players like play 3 at the back so we have 3 CB's going forward who can attack the set pieces.

    What are we doing instead....

    1) Creative players are on the pitch.... Oztumer and Nicholson playing :emoticon-0148-yes:
    2) Westbrooke sat on the bench wondering why he has signed for us :emoticon-0149-no:
    3) We only have 2 CB's and a short team :emoticon-0149-no:

    I suppose 1/3 is better than 0/3.

Because we are playing a team worse than us who also don't have a recognised striker on the pitch. Doubt we would have created those 4 chances if we were facing anyone else.
