De Guzman is out of the United game, at least, after suffering a mild concussion whilst training with Holland.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A STATEMENT Anyone who criticises a match thread should write the next one. Come on you wimps, let's be avenue
A draw will do me, but I can honestly see us nicking it on Saturday. 2 maybe even 3-1. The boys will be well up for it. I can see Bony getting a couple with Shelvey getting the 3rd, before sticking two fingers up at the mancs behind the goal.
Vorm Rangel Chico Williams Davies Shelvey Britton Dyer Poz' Routledge Michu ... I think we'll see a somewhat defensive approach with Britton going deeper than usual to support our back four. It's tempting to go all in offensively just for the fun of it but it's too risky and a clean sheet and one on the counter sounds reasonable and within grasp. 1-0 Swansea
Well the matchday thread on the Mancs board is worse.....if that's possible. Bring back Scott! Fancy us for this one - but only if we're clinical. Man U are the type of team - and RVP the type of player - that only need one or two chances. We could easily play really well and lose as we've done in the past. I'm ****e at predictions but 2-0 Swans. If that happens it'll send out shockwaves for sure.
Mikra I agree as tired as Bony maybe he will satrt with Michu behind him. If I was offered the draw now I would bite their arm off. 1 - 1
Trunds, I would usually agree with this but United have never dominated us at this level. Games have been close and, in my opinion, had we had a decent run of the ball, been closer still in terms of results. It might be a question of styles. United haven't come near, for instance, to displaying the superiority that Everton have shown against us. I know we will be playing a Moyles team again and he seems to know how to beat us, but balancing that is the loss of the Fergie factor and all which that implies such as ref's decisions etc. It might come down to how well their players adapt to the requirements of the new manager. The change must have been disruptive and, add the fact that we have a slight head start in terms of competitive games and much more firepower up front than previously, we just might surprise them. I know it is a cliche but we must believe in our ability. They are far from invincible and we are now a pretty useful outfit in our own right and playing on our own patch. So long as we match their work rate in midfield for the entire game, which I'm sure we will do with JJ in there, I think we'll be in with a chance of a win. Of course they rightly start as favourites but they are notoriously slow starters and could come a cropper against us if we are on our game. Consequently, I would be prepared to forego the theoretical point and take my chances of grabbing all three. And that, I sincerely hope, is not the proverbial kiss of death for us.
On paper Man utd should win but they do tend to leak early goals so if we manage to get our nose in front then we must play the game as if we are losing because we all know how man utd tend to score late goals and we don't want to blow it thinking we have the game won and go into defence mode. we need to get the ball forward for the whole 90 minutes + time added......I'm going for a draw 0-0 and stalemate and hope for the best.
Its time we turned them over, 2-1 to the Super Swans, Michu and Bony. Big Ash to deal with Van (he could have been killed)Persie.
