Watching the goals this morning gastons was a wonderful strike but because its saints it won't get shown many times, but if Rooney scored that it would be shown every 3 minutes for the next 7 weeks.

It was right down Robles throat in the centre of the goal. He should have got 2 hands to it, but merely flapped at it. It was a decent connection but hardly worth of the tag 'wonderful' as it should have been a routine save.

Good grief how on earth was that a penalty? His arm wasn't outstretched and he had no time to react. Some people on here need to learn the handball law.

I think that the preception here is that incidents have seen penalties awarded against us in similar circumstances, it is down to the Referee to decide intent, we will always have differing opinions, some will be given others, not, this one was not, there is no appeal, and Referees are untouchable when it comes to making critical mistakes, if he was in fact wrong, it cost a deserved point, sadly that is the way the cookie crumbles. It's not fair, but that is life, move on, we must have used a good deal of our bad luck quota, that could change anytime now, I won't hold my breath, I have been following the Saints long enough to know that nothing that is expected is a certainty. Next game Chelsea, come on Mr Atkinson, get it right for once, or if wrong make it in our favour! I love seeing JM have a big strop.

OK fair enough, you have probably been spoilt for choice on great goals, let us enjoy a decent one of our own.
Your Manager said "There was nothing Joel Robles could do (about the goal). The swerve in that ball from Gaston Ramirez he made it impossible for him. Are you saying that he was wrong?

The problem is everyone defines handball differently. Even refs do as we have seen through out the years. Just because in your opinion it isn't handball it doesn't mean you are right in everyones view.

Now that's move on as this **** is getting boring.

Well as I'm backed up by the laws of the game I'd say my version is a bit more than my opinion. It's more like fact.

MOTD did a session in handball earlier in the season- they made the point that very few handballs are deliberate and that refs have to take into account whether the hand position is natural and the distance between hall and ball- it does seem to be a matter of opinion in many cases. The ref only gets one look in real time and has to be sure before giving it. The main problem is consistency. Why was one given and a similar incident not the next week? (I do not buy into the belief that refs are actually biased towards particular teams but may well be intimidated by bigger clubs "bearpit" atmospheres)"
Perhaps we should have had a penalty, but there is no point dwelling on it. Happy with the performance bearing in mind the players still out injured. We will pick up when Wanyama is back I am sure.

It's your oponion of the law. As I said other refs would see it differently, just because you are a ref yourself doesn't mean you are 100% right.

Ha ha, or your interpretation of what you saw :)

The laws are about interpreting an incident seen.

Yep, my dad who refed for 20yrs, even got as high as the conference said it was a pen. Everyone has different ways of reading the law.

Anyways that's the last I say about it, going on and on about a thing that didn't happen is boring.

Sky just put up stats for season. Saints are 3rd for possession and tackles. They remarked the latter was impressive combined with our high possession as you can only tackle when you haven't got the ball.

Unless your Wanyama...You pass them the ball then proceed to retake it <laugh>

The Guardian report saying that Everton were "cruising towards a win" before the equaliser and that Barkley was a disappointment.

I take it they were at a different game?
