Saw plenty about him last season but he's been rubbish this campaign, the thing about Poyet is he likes to play proper football and frankly a lot of our players have been shown for what they are. He's had injury problems which accounts for a lot but he doesn't read the game very well in the style we play and the team's whole performance suffers as a result. He doesn't drop short, he doesn't hold up the ball, his answer to every ball played into him is try a little flick which more often than not has led to us surrendering possession, he's not making the effort to get in the box, he's pretty static and all out of idea's. Hope he sits out the rest of the season so he can regain fitness, fully this time, and I can take a proper look at him next season and make my mind up definitively. If he's our saviour we're ****ed, good job he isn't and we have much better options.
I think the defence will be unchanged, Tettey and Howson in the middle, snodgrass and Redmond wide. Given it will probably be O'shea and brown in central defence I'd go for hoolahan and hooper as I think they'll provide a sterner test than elmander and rvw would.
We have to take points from teams like Fulham Cardiff Hull and Sunderland or we don`t deserve to be in this league ...
We need to take enough points to stay up, who they are against is irrelevant. Besides, we have taken points of all apart from Fulham who we have played only once. Even a point against them will not mean we deserve to stay up.
" Battle Cry " Right Now We´re Counting, Just Six Hours Away Come On Lads, This Just HAS To Be The Day Anything Less Than A Win May Not Do And Even Three Points Here Might Not See Us Through But It Would Help, And Open Up A Space Between Ourselves And Those Down In Eighteenth Place So Forget What Recently Has Gone Before Get Out There And Fight, Tackle, And Pass And Score
Under normal circumstances might easily have been, but I think both teams need to win more than settling for a draw. Just hope it´s the right (green and yellow) way.
Incidentally yellows, good reason to feel optimistic, my record with Match Threads this season - 5 starts: 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat
Be careful Canaries, if the Mackems get beat there will be none stop beel from the likes of Smug and Bri.. They have weekly meltdowns nowadays.
Norwich XI: Ruddy; Martin, Yobo, Bassong (c), Olsson; Snodgrass, Howson, Tettey, Hoolahan; Elmander, van Wolfswinkel. Subs: Bunn (GK), Whittaker, Johnson, Hooper, Gutierrez, Becchio, Redmond. Sunderland XI: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, O'Shea (c), Brown, Bridcutt, Colback, Ki, Johnson, Borini, Altidore. Subs: Ustari, Larsson, Celustka, Giaccherini, Vergini, Scocco, Cattermole.
Hoolahan and Elmander, with just Tettey as a proper holding midfielder? Well it's bold I'll give Hughton that! Presumably it'll nominally be Elmander behind RvW with Hoolahan wide, but with some fluidity there. Olsson's going to need a good game. I'm slightly surprised Johnson wasn't chosen over Howson as he'd do a better job of helping Olsson out.
I'd like to see Wes pull in more and be allowed to roam a bit. Pleased to see Howson over Johnson I'm sure we'll look better in the middle for it.
