Let's hope we can keep our form up against a Barnsley side who become a bit of a bogey team in recent meetings. Might be changes because of the Internationals. Seri, Reid, Robinson & Kebano Rested ? may be Reed, Bryan, Carvalho with Cairney taking Seri role & think Tosin is till suspended so it will be Hector & Ream ? with Tete fullback ?
And we keep on going, 4 -1, Mitro now on 21 for the season.......... Top of the league tonight as Bournemouth play tomorrow, but 9pts clear of WBA in 3rd spot. Wow!
Another great performance. The gap down to 3rd is good - especially as there is just a small gap over all the playoff teams - so they will be taking points off each other. This is unknown territory for us for many years - long may it continue
We entertain Derby at the Cottage tonight, ko 7:45 and can be seen on Sky via the red button. As all games in the Championship, this is another tough one. Although Derby are bottom of the table, this is only due to the 21pt deduction. They have only lost 5 times so far, but drawing far too many. Having just defeated Bournemouth, they are not giving up the fight to stay in this league. So expect a fight until the final whistle, they are determined. No new injuries for us, so expecting little change, albeit Seri is likely to return from the start. 8 wins on the trot would be brilliant, but we will need to earn it this eve.
Did anyone else see the tweets from PNE Police ? very good banter. After that 2nd half performance by Fulham it was a good point gained to keep the unbeaten record going and the bonus Coventry drawing @ Bournemouth kept us top of the League.
Tomorrow is our biggest test so far this season. Quietly confident - well - as much as any Fulham supporter would be
Heading toward the Christmas fixtures, we have Luton this afternoon, 3pm and Gentleman Jim to commentate throughout. Luton are a big physical side, so we will need to be aggressive without the ball, then ply our silky skills when in possession. No new injuries, and illness seems to be past, so we will be at full strength today. Our away support has been brilliant this season, something I've enjoyed on a couple of occasions. Our tickets for today's game, being sold out in 90 mins, says it all. We need to dig deep to get the points today, our twelfth man will be as important, enjoy.
Happy with a point and we are still top. But we could do with getting back to winning soon as the cushion to third is narrowing.
A loss to Sheffield United wasn't what we needed. A win would have given us points to stay clear of the chasing pack. But we have to try and kick start again against Birmingham and Reading. Still top of the Championship at the half way stage isn't bad, just need to kick on.
Like many games this Boxing Day, our game has been postponed. But this post allows me to wish everyone, a Merry Christmas. Have a good one.
Well, we didn't get to play a game in the festive period, so now have the Reading and Birmingham games rearranged for January to cause a bit of congestion in fixtures, and Swansea away needs fixing a date. Marco Silva has a bit of a dilemma on what best team to put out in the cup away at Bristol. Does he play the best team and get them match practice or go half and half being careful of injures. I'd like a cup run, but will it interfere with the fixture congestion. Next round is when we are to play Boro away. (They have Mansfield in the Cup).
At last, we have a game today, Bristol City 12:30 at Ashton Gate, 3rd round of the FA Cup. Having listened to both Marco and Nigel, we won't be seeing the full first teams in action, both prioritizing the EFL, so no surprise there. We need to get back to winning ways, so I'm guessing the bench will be strong and most will get a run out. But the winning streak needs to start in mid-week. I'll be listening to GJ commentary, the best in the business. Oh, Happy New Year, everyone, and fingers crossed it will be a cracker!
Well, having got a 1-0 win to move us into the 4th round of the FA Cup, and an away fixture against Man C (oh, dear), we have Reading away tonight, 8pm. No live tv, GJ as ever covers. We have players returning from covid, not a clue who these are. We should be at or close to full strength, whereas Reading are weakened, apparently. We need to get revenge on a 2-1 defeat in September, let's hope this is the case.
Well, that's certainly a good way to start a run! Here's hoping we can produce something similar against Bristol City on Saturday. The downside to being the best attacking team in the league is that teams come to the Cottage to rough us up and hope for a point (Derby did this, as did Sheff Utd). I think away from home teams are more likely to actually try and play, unsuccessfully of course hence our strong away record.
To the tune of ABBAs Super Trooper Harry Wilson, Mitro and Kebano Play in black and white Scoring goals all night Making Reading look ****e
Bristol City at the Cottage today at 3pm, GJ commentating as usual Confidence will be high after our last game, but City are a tough opponent, and we will need our fans at their best. City have a full sell out and will be noisy if encouraged. Marco says there are a few minor injuries, to be assessed this morning. If all get passed fit, I see little to no change from the Reading outing. We will need to be at our best............
