Massive Weekend

It all assumes they have stock though. If the Oxford vaccine doesn’t get the green light then I can’t see anyone getting a vaccine anytime soon also in regards to the Oxford one... If it comes back with a 65% success rate would you want to use up your early place in the queue having a vaccine with a 35% chance of not covering you and then 30 days later another hits the market with say a 98% success rate?

Early isn’t always best, I’ll be offered one once the pharmacist are given them the go ahead to give them but I’ll probably wait longer if it’s not got a great success percentage. By March we’ll probably have around 5 different ones on the market. You won’t get a choice they’ll just work through us all...

Oh another thing, make sure your doctor has a mobile phone number on record. The Pfizer vaccine has to be dished out to everyone in a few hours. Each doctors surgery had around 975 doses for the over 80s. Due to the speed it has to be used up once received and opened preference went to the over 80s with a mobile number. Those who could accept the appointment time and slot immediately.

Anyone who would have required a letter asking them to call the surgery were overlooked this time. Those who received it were sent an sms message, that’s how it worked here so I’m assuming it’s the same all over. I’ve been delivering to over 80s with underlying conditions like diabetes and asthma and they missed out on this first batch, none had mobile phones.

Not strictly correct as my dad is ninety with asthma and other underlying problems with his mobile registered at the doctors and he hasn't been contacted yet

Why get a vaccine that doesnt stop you getting the batflu, doesnt stop you infecting some other poor sap, and youve still to wear a face nappy and still under house arrest.
They can stick their vaccine up their arse as far as im concerned ill take my 99.9% chance of surviving the sniffles than having something pumped in my arm thats been rushed through and theyre not 100% reliable.
**** that.
All you coffin dodgers are welcome to it:emoticon-0105-wink:

Great result again for us as Arsenal get beat, but the big question is this: when will football clubs learn that bringing back dead has been managers doesnt work.

Pulis is back, Big Sams back, Houghton’s back, Warnocks back too, so who will Arsenal bring back<laugh>
Bruce Rioch.

Succinctly (and bluntly) put. <laugh>
When did we become a country of such snivelling cowards. Never have we dealt with a coronavirus in this way. The freedoms this government has removed from us will never be returned.

He would have been considered though, there could be 3,000 like your dad, if 1,000 never had a mobile then the vaccine would have been decided between the 2,000 that had mobile numbers.

Then they would have probably given preference to those that could drive or get there without assistance. There were only 975 per surgery, if your dad didn’t get contacted they considered there were others ahead of him either more vulnerable or who could attend easier.

It’s why those in old peoples homes have been overlooked, it’s about getting to the surgery as quickly and as easily as possible and in and out the door. There is something like a 3hr window to get them done

There are 66k+ people you will never convince. Or their family or friends.

Given the attitudes I'm reading, it seems some people would encourage their kids to play in the park where the *****s are known to hang out. "Well, he's never been buggered at the park before. Came as such a surprise!".

Frankly, that’s a ****ing ridiculous analogy. It ain’t the bloody plague and sadly people die all the time. We’ve never locked up healthy people before as a result.

Not as ridiculous as your attitude to the 66k+ who have died in this country, not to mention the 1.6m+ worldwide. The plague never claimed as many lives in such a short period of time, btw. Only a fcuking moron would have your attitude to people dying. <doh>

Sadly, Boris the Bastard Butcher of Britain cancelled London's 5 day Xmas opportunity to kill yourselves. Pity in your case. Respectfully, of course.

There’s a difference between being alive and living, given there’s over a 99% survival rate l’ll take my chances. You enjoy life under your bed.
