Will fully support the new guy and he deserves the time to try get a tune out of these players. I don't forsee it being a great tune with what he presently has available but time will tell.

Why is it that the papers all say, we’ve signed a manager but the club still haven’t?

Could it be the Marti issue is holding up things?

No doubt his agent will be playing hardball...
I suspect it’s legal rather than agents. Is he in breach of contract given his approach to WBA therefore sackable with no compensation, or is that behaviour standard practice in football and therefore placing him on gardening leave is a kind of constructive dismissal?

Either way he didn’t want to be at the club and he’s irrelevant now. I can’t see how he is any different to Beale, except that he failed to lure another club to take him on.

I think he’d have been sacked had we lost to Stoke but we scraped a result and then went on a run. He doesn’t get on with Nourry so on the one hand I’d argue he’s trying to jump before he’s pushed and it’s not as bad as Beale who was backed heavily and was clearly courting a move from almost day one.

On the other hand at least Beale was getting his head turned by a Prem job and then an enormous club so one could argue it’s worse with Cifuentes flirting with ****ing West Brom who are almost as nothing as we are.

Beale has a huge mole…..

It's just so weird. When Marti came, there was a clip of him and Hoos both seemingly very pleased to get Marti in at last (implied). It feels like a once good relationship that has become very bitter. Odd and sad.

What’s happened since Marti sent on garden leave…..

Not sure it’s been said earlier in the thread, but I thought gardening leave was when you give your notice or get terminated and have to spend the notice period not working anywhere as it’s paid by the employer. Not sure what notice period would be in Marti’s contract if that was the case. Maybe his contract was til end June with option to extend. Who knows?

It normally is. There’s probably another term for what this is really. Like if you or I were suspended pending some sort of internal investigation. Maybe they were thinking it would lead to a quicker resolution with another club and Cifuentes forgoing some sort of payment just to get out and move on with his career and that’s either collapsed or he’s just called Nourry’s bluff.

Either way we’re now under eight weeks away from the new season with one friendly on the calendar and, at least publicly, various important players’ futures unknown to us plebs.

It was renewed last year, 'multi-year'...

I wonder if Stefan is on holiday.

( I know a stupid idea)

We will announce when he is back and starts 100% with the club... you know ..shirt photos, kissing the badge... hugging a baby...that sort of thing

A mate who has seen Rennes play a few times, including under Stephan, says they are a very attractive team with strong youth development, which fits for me.

But given the silence on this I suppose it’s not happening. What larks!

I wonder if he didn't know. His agent may have told him that a big club in West London wanted him and he got confused.
