Simeone is a worldy manager I would love. He also recognises Bielsa as the best coach in the world and does Bielsaball in reverse. He starts with a low block then counter attacks. He prefers a 4-4-2 and as well as Bielsa he rates SG Erikson. Not likely we would get him interested though

Didn’t know he was the best paid coach in Europe on €3.3m per month ahead of Pep on €2m per month and Conte on €1.5m per month. A guy in the States is on $15m per month in Miami ffs

However he gets paid massive because of what he’s done for the clubs profits. They had a budget of €100m when he came from Argentina and because he won so many league titles, Spanish cups, European cups and Champions League runners ups the budget went to €300m. Remember he won 2 La Liga titles when Real Madrid and Barcelona were untouchable. All done pre pandemic and the club have suffered because of it, hence bad results this season

...wasn't questioning his abilities as a manager Doc - just the likelihood of us getting/affording him!

We're building a young exciting squad so let's stick with it and see where we end up.

It did seem as though Jesse was done for but the wins against Liverpool & Bournemouth saved his job. Since the resumption respectable draws at Toon and at home to West Ham have at least allowed us to tread water.

Honestly thought we would be in the bottom 3 by now so we're actually just about doing enough.
