Not just football, plenty of top executives benefit from failure, it's the way of the world, the rich get richer...

Not to mention the enormous pay offs to failures in the public sector who then move onto another cushy number elsewhere.

And the taxpayers paying off top people in the public sector before they land an other cushy number in the public sector or some QUANGO.

50% of all managers finish in the bottom half every season. Some that finish in the top half "fail". It's nothing like normal business.

Wonder how long they will give Gracie to turn their form around I’m guessing if they don’t pick up wins soon he might break Brian Cloughs 44 days

I'd look at it the other way - it's staggering how high the bar is for success as a football manager. Barely any are not considered failures. Some get re-employed but loads get one job that goes poorly in difficult circumstances and then never get another chance. Mike Phelan was a good example, he was desperate for a chance as a manager, got 4 months with us in the PL starting the season with a bare 11 players and then bringing in the likes of Will Keane, Mbokani and James Weir on deadline day. Got sacked for inevitably struggling and has had to settle for being a number 2 since.
