Depends how old he is but I'd imagine he'd love all that. Dinosaurs, meteors, planets. I remember when mine were younger I put the whole solar system up on their ceiling. Used to go fluorescent and **** at night.

Three years old, so it's working with pictures more than explanations. It's trying to find stuff to excite his mind, I cast a youtube video to the TV of the biggest planets, galaxies, exciting because of the use of the word 'BIG' - 'The Great Nothing' caught the excitement of his imagination, probably due to the name (real name The Bootesvoid). Although he does know his planets.

I've thought about this very thing before. How's it terrifying?

My initial thoughts would be I'm on an island so at some point I'm going to need to get away, especially if I want to see if there's anyone else out there. How would I do that? Learn to fly and give it a go on a small plane, or take the sea on a yacht or some ****? What about food? Food will eventually start to go off in shops unless I want to survive on tins but fck that. Find a gun store and get me a rifle to kill chicken or buffalo or something. But basically, the whole world is there for you to explore, with every resource out there at your disposal, go anywhere, do anything.

That bloke's full of **** though. <laugh>

Planet Earth turning into Mars!!!

IPCC Climate Change Report says heatwaves, flooding and droughts will be more frequent and more intense as the world is set to hit the 1.5C global warming limit within the next 20 years.

UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres described the findings as a "code red for humanity" and scientists, campaigners and politicians lined up to call for a shift away from polluting fossil fuels and to end deforestation (and plenty more than that tbf)

How worried are you?

Hmm if that question gets lumped in here, it will suddenly become an environmental thread bordering on a political one. It's been a decent thread so far. :(

No way it should be political but I fear you're probably right.

I get that some may feel there's no such thing as manmade climate change... or there'll be an argument that we're doing more than other countries and it's a waste of time until they pull their weight. What's so tragic in all this is that there does appear to be massive and catastrophic events happening e.g. Germany, Greece and even the U.K.

It's the science really I was on about but maybe not the place to discuss it.
