Bill Hicks was totally in favour of space exploration mate.
Yeah after we feed clothed and educate.....I agree I said the same

Sat Nav is based on general relativityWeren't MRI and Cat scans achieved due to NASA and space exploration, along with eye laser treatment, even Sat Navs, many every day things we probably take for granted came about due to the tecnology and investment in space exploration. Even the air pumps you run in. Along with insulin pumps, microwaves I think, artificle limbs, fire ******ants. The list goes on, I think a lot of the technology for the internet was first created by NASA as well.
There probably be a load of new kit come about from that latest Mars rover.

This rocket is designed to take off and being able to land, in preperation for taking man to Mars.
As you will see, it went well....

The funniest thing is that Musk allegedly celebrated when it first landed.![]()

Probs aerodynamics and that bruWatching that reminded me of some really old black & white sci-fi film. Surely we've come futher than that and can think up a different designed vessel, other than another rocket. There really isn't much hope for us, if that's the best we can do.

Fux intellience?I know why, but is that really the best of our intellience. It just feels like we are going backwards, rather than forwards, unless of course it involves robotics.

I think it's brilliant he's made the land again rockets. Mars wouldn't be an option without the technology.I know why, but is that really the best of our intellience. It just feels like we are going backwards, rather than forwards, unless of course it involves robotics.

Just make musk king of earth
The first Mercury test rockets that were launched - including one in front of all the astronauts and their families - blew up several times. One of the first got about four foot off the ground, hovered for a few seconds, then went down like Richarlison, but with less noise.
Im guessing it's more efficient and probably costs less. New ships/Rockets we're needed anyway for Mars due to its distance and such. Not sure a shuttle is any use for that?We could land a space shuttle, didn't mean the technology was any better. Just throw a ball in the air mate, you will find it lands again.
Pete Conrad was working on and landing reusable test rockets 40 - odd years ago. The science has always been there, just not Musk's money.

Thats usually how new tech comes into the world anyway, cheaper and better than what came before.
Like you said way back in the thread all the everyday things that came from the moon landing tech later on.
Thats why I personally applaud him, imagine where we could be if more billionaires put thier money into the greater good and advancement of the planet and its peeps.Pete Conrad was working on and landing reusable test rockets 40 - odd years ago.
