Our minds are physically trapped and limited by our experience that everything is inside something else, something can not come from nothing, and there must be a beginning to everything. We simply can not imagine nothing, the best we can do is imagine the absence of the tings we know. But we can express nothing and infinity in mathematical terms. And rather than thinking of zero as nothing, think of -1 plus + 1. Or the other way around. Or as George says in Yellow Submarine 'It's all in the mind'. :emoticon-0175-drunk

Mars was never intended to be the promised land, it's merely to see if it holds any clues connecting to Earth, and can it be used as a stepping stone to further our journey into space. Mars is nowt but a dead planet - I watched that programme you posted up, very interesting, certainly told you everything you needed to know about how it became a wasteland. If people are looking for little green men, they are going to be very disappointed.

True dat. More people have walked on the Moon that have reached Challenger Deep in The Marianas Trench.

In that respect, the belief in the spiritual aspect of an afterlife is very similar <whistle>

Might be something fossilised. I know it's going to bring back samples from Mars, if the technology goes without any glitches.

Yes, we were only talking about this on our board a couple of months ago about the similarities in unprovable, left-field wings of particle and metaphysical sciences, such as Many World theory and the Anthropic principle, and how medievel monks - who were damn good mathematicians - speculated on angels dancing on the heads of pins, and 'proved' the universe was geo-centric through their calculations of wandering stars.

Then our universe really did collapse. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Viruses from bats will be the least of our problems. Good luck finding a vaccine for that.

The irony of looking for a way for people to carry on the hunan race beyond this planet, only for some unknown disease from Mars to wipe us all out here once and for all <laugh>

Nope, just going to store the samples in vials and drop them at an easily recognisable site for retrieval by future missions.

Funny you should say that, the thought had crossed my mind <laugh>

I assume the capsules holding the samples will only be opened under strict conditions. What's that you say, Wuhan...I raise you the Kent strain. :cheesy:
