Hard luck Mark, it does appear you are losing out due to market fluctuation which must be disappointing.
As you are very much proofing a system here would if be possible to carry forward a running total at the end of each day that you select noting the amount of bets placed throughout the experiment noting numbers of winners and any profit and loss. It will help record its effectiveness in total as opposed just being able to see good or bad days in themselves.
Its clear to see the system does produce horses that can be expected to run well with many of your early morning put ups winning or going close even if the market has prevented you backing them, I guess you believe this discipline will be worth it in the end.
