Not sure if this should be somewhere else, sorry if so.

Today has seen a really exceptional achievement by a British sportsman. I have always loved the TDF and what Cav has done is very very special.

I just wanted to take a moment to note what has happened amongst fellow sports fans. Probably not everyones cup of tea but to me it was remarkable.

OK, so I sit down to watch the TDF highlights of the day but first have a shufty to see if we've bought anyone and see this!

Fantastic teamwork and probably still the best sprinter on 2 wheels, despite a lay off and health issues.... Hopefully at least 1 more for the record

I watch all the cycling and this years Tour has been mental. The Ventoux stage yesterday was just brutally crazy.

The fact that Cav shouldn't even be in this years race but has equalled Mercks record is incredible.

After the tour of Yorkshire in 2018, Cav took the time to have a picture with each of my mates kids. Apparently he was just an amazing bloke.

Absolute legend, one of the greatest sportsmen this country's produced, yet he rarely gets the publicity he deserves as he's been over shadowed by Wiggo, Sir Chris Hoy and Chris Froome. Yet he never seems bothered by it and always comes across as a decent bloke. I'd love him to take the record, especially on the Champs Elysees.

Really sorry mate. I managed to see the highlights only. Sure it spoiled it but hopefully not ruined for you.

Big cycling fan. Watch the tour every year.

Funny relationship with Cav. I think he's a massive twat to be honest, and full of affectations and ****.

But what a talent. Fully deserves the record having stuck with it. Quick Step must be made up with the way the tour is going.

NP, it didn't spoil anything...what a finish though!. I saw the first part of the race and thought he was going to struggle, I think he did but it didn't stop him...what a sportsman and what a team. Do you think he'll be back next year as well?

He is just brilliant mate. I thought he couldnt win with 600m to go but he has an unbelievable lead out man and his will to win is incredible.

I do think he will be back yes. He just loves racing and I reckon they will have to drag him off the bike. Looks like winning green if he can survive the mountains so I reckon he will come back again.
