After reading about the tackle that horrorfied France to such an extent that he had to leave the country to continue playing football, I must admit I was expecting it to be alot worse than this! Dangerous tackle, deserving of a red, bloke out of action for 2-3 year! The player was really unlucky to sustain such a bad injury cos worse tackles than this have resulted in no injuries! Pretty sure he was going for the ball and there was no intent to hurt the fella!

2 and a half month ban and the FA overturned one for a vvery similar tackle by Vincent Kompany - only difference was that Kompany got there in time and played man and ball - Mangane only missed the ball by miliseconds. Had his foot not been planted it would still have been a bad tackle but not a patch on the injury sustained.

It's unfortunate really that he has been victimised because of the result of the tackle without any consideration for how he feels about it

Sliding tackles should be banned, there is no need for them and they cause the worst injuries.

But thats the problem, players don't know what is a good tackle and what isn't, the refs don't know what is a good tackle and what isn't. There is still room for sliding tackles within the game, but no one knows what is acceptable. Until this is made clear, nothing is going to get any better, at the detriment of the game.

Was a red card, but for me that had no intent at all.

Definitely not a two footer like we're used to from the Stoke players.

Cestria Scholes was booked for his tackle actually, it was nowhere near as bad as that one. Scholes isn't a good tackler but that wasn't one of his worst last night, surely you could have found an example closer to home? Bardsley's stamp on Mata?

No harm intended he was simply not quick enough. They happen at all levels of football. Deserved a red though.

He scissored him (not in that way you filthy lot). Horrendous tackle though not worth being hounded out for. Paul Scholes has probably done worse (but he IS a dirty c u next tuesday)

I think if you read a little more you might find it had a lot to do with his lack of remorse shown at the time!

Agree with Parker. Split second late, split second from the ball. To be out that length of time is just unlucky. You could break both legs 5 times over and be out less time than that.

1 footed, genuine attempt to win ball, split second out so it's been a nasty one.

That's a standard 3 gamer for me, and no way did he deserve the treatment he got.
