Kagawa is really good.

Mancini seems unhappy at the moment, they are a flash in the pan anyway soon as FFP comes in it's game over for them.

From the steven gerrard appreciation thread post number 2430. Note the edit made at a later time to include the manc twats bit.

It was added 17 minutes later.

<laugh> Someone a bit grumpy that Chelsea and City are winning better trophies than your lot?

Might have sounded rather bitter their Drogs, seeing as you are a level headed poster (far superior to the likes of CPofL anyway) I will reply within reasonable fashion for debate.

If my memory serves me correctly, you finished top 4 by beating us on the last day of the season just before RA took over. I quite liked Chelsea back then and would rather you were still like that...my mid table comment may have gotten caught up in my ramblings. Don't mind rich owners coming in, but would like to see a level playing field and a more sustainable set up being implemented within clubs.

We have spent a lot of money over the last few seasons but a lot has come in from sales and the days of our higher net spend under Rafa was mainly covered by CL money. I'm grateful for our academy and I hope to see it have a positive effect on our 1st team over the next few years. I find it a tad sad that RA just throws a load of money at the problem and changes manager every year when he could invest his money a bit more wisely to make Chelsea a stable, self sufficient and sustainable club.

Didn't mean to sound like I snapped, just a gentle dig at you saying 'where we belong', nothing personal <ok>

I understand what you mean but it was just the 'where we belong' part I didn't like because we were far from a midtable side when Roman had just bought us! Even us Chelsea fans become frustrated with Roman's trigger finger (trigger finger meaning both sacking managers without thought and spending ridiculously). I would love us to breed our own youngsters and we have most certainly done so, our problem is actually playing them. Sinclair and McEachran are two of the brightest talents to come through recently and I think Sinclair could've been a better player than he currently is had he stayed here and been played.

This year has been slightly different, AVB's reign had probably made Roman realise that drastic changes within the first team are required and tbf we've bought some very young lads so far with Marin being the oldest at age 23. All potential to be world class players and I think we've actually made brilliant purchases, the fees are the awkward part but the Champions League will have helped massively. Roman's argument to all his critics could be that we've more or less won a trophy every single year in the past 10 years, on par/nearing United if you include everything (not entirely sure on numbers but think it's around 12 each).

I've heard it all now. Villas Boas is a better manager than the one that won the Champions League and the FA Cup<laugh>. Was this guy born stupid or has he had loads of practice? Had Chelsea kept AVB until the end of the season, Chelsea would not have got a sniff of either the FA Cup or the Champions League. It was Di Matteo going back to basics and earning the trust of the senior figures, with the exception of John Terry who was a team-mate of Roberto Di Matteo's.

In my opinion Roberto Di Matteo did wonderfully. Okay Chelsea's league form wasn't the best towards the end of the season, and thats what he will be now judged upon. To suggest that Villas Boas is a better manager is ludicrous.
