The sh!t could hit the fan 2nd half.. but that first half I though we looked quite decent.. The quality of Man C passes are just a different level..
Their pace and power in the press is phenomenal. They have caught Zak out a few times and pressured Max a lot to.
I know we lost, but I’m not that disappointed, against a very good side.. I’m sure they could have gone up a gear.. but most of the game we contained them and we also had our moments.. I just hope we don’t get disheartened and we go again against Cardiff.. Good effort Nige and the players..
Man City superb and deserved without doubt to win, Bristol City great effort and I'm proud they are my team, a quality performance from all.
We did all right, hopefully the team and the fans did the club proud on TV. Their class and tbh fitness in the last 20 mins made the big difference. We switched off for the 3rd goal, it was too easy for Grealish to thread in KDB, but some finish.
Good atmosphere until they scored early on. I said before keeping it below 4-0 would be a good night. Proud of the team. Now to the important game IMO
At times we were a little naive out there tonight and it caught us out on 2 of the goals, but you know what I was proud of our effort against probably the best club team in the world. The gap in quality was there for all to see and their usual percentage of the play was up to their normal standard but we had our moments, and a possible penalty shout in the first half went unpunished by Andre Marriner. It was great to see all the scarves waving to bring the boys home but it was not to be, and the only thing I craved was a Bristol City goal but again it was not to be tonight. Pep and Nige were having a good old hug at the end and their conversation and banter went on way beyond the final whistle so perhaps that means some loanees or something may come our way in the summer. To sum up my thoughts after watching the game was that the final result was as per expected but I think we showed that despite being a mid-table squad from the Championship we can play the game, but at a different level than our masterful opponents. We should hold our heads high and know that we gave it our best shot against overwhelming power and class and played on the big stage without compromise which have definitely earned us some positive comments from the media. Taking the positives from tonight's match should help us in our league ambitions, and so we move on to the next game against Cardiff with heart and confidence after an exciting night at Ashton Gate. Thanks to all for a very good watch, and to hell with the result.
I thought Kalas had a good game, nice to see him back to nearing his best, if he can stay fit and accept reduced wages, I’d keep him, imo he’s our best central defender by some distance.
Just back , we thoroughly enjoyed the game and atmosphere. Vyner 1st half - I can't decide - Shocking or hilarious. Kalas - just bloody awesome. THAT is a defender !
