Pep Guardiola press conference
The Manchester City manager is addressing the media at 12:30pm this afternoon. He did make this brief comment on City in the wake of their 4-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

When I see what I have seen lately the games and how we fought and how we tried to play, that made me feel okay we will fight until the end.

I know how good Arsenal is so far, United is back, Newcastle is still there.

That's why stay calm, think of Bristol City now as that will be a tough game - my scout has told me already how serious we have to take it and after Newcastle and Crystal Palace and then Champions League.

I look forward to a great occasion to share with my grandson and all City fans.
Watching the latest Man City game with Bournemouth makes you realise what an almost impossible task we have just to stay in the game.
If/when they score I hope it's not by pissing about in and around our box. There isn't a better team anywhere who 'press' better than Man City.
Fingers crossed we keep it respectable.

Ps I hope Williams, with his fitness issues, is available for the weekend.

Yep, they are a lot better than we gave them a game over 2 legs a few years back. I think we are not as good a team as we were then, although we have improved a lot lately. I fear a mauling tbh, maybe 3 or 4 nil. I will be there regardless.

Every Word: Pep Guardiola’s pre-Bristol City press conference
The challenge posed by Bristol City
“In the last 12 games, no defeats – that says they are a good team. (Nigel) Pearson did well at Leicester and Watford. It is a final. A serious team will play tomorrow… From my experience in this competition away from home against a Championship team, it is tough. That is why we are flying there tomorrow. We will do what we have to do.”

Arguably Man City are the best side we've seen at AG along with the great Leeds Utd side in the 70's. Is there anyone else ?
To show the massive gap now is I always felt we had a chance against Leeds back then where, being honest, I can't see us having a hope tomorrow night.
Funnily enough, good as they were/are, neither Leeds or Man City have won the European Cup/Champions League.

I am looking forward to watching the game over my lunch and whatever the score it's our day to be in the limelight for once. The Bristol City Women lost 1-8 to Man City just the other day so let's hope that is not an omen. Getting this far in the F.A. Cup is in itself an achievement for which we should hold our heads up high but beating this classy team is probably outside of reality - or is it? Good luck lads and make us proud. :emoticon-0137-clapp

I seem to remember that we received great praise from Pep after our last clash with Man City and I thought that his positive comments might lead to some loan players especially as he appeared to like the cut of our jib. Perhaps a second visit may convince him that the set-up at Bristol City is an ideal environment for some of his younger players to whet their appetites whilst playing in the best second tier sporting league in the world. Who knows what this clash might turn up down the road?

Liverpool of the same era I guess, who went on to win many more trophies at home and abroad than Leeds ever did over the following 8-10 years ?.

Leeds gave us chances in both games against them, but Liverpool were too 'professional' (if you can call it that) to give us any real chances in the 6th round.
To this day I still resent Emlyn Hughes constantly passing the ball back to Ray Clemence from near the half way line to slow the game down, and apart from the Steven Gerrard era, I've hated Liverpool ever since because of the way that they played that game against us all those years ago.

In terms of tonight, we don't have a prayer against Manchester City on paper. But when was football ever played on paper ?

If we keep them to scoring max four goals I will be happy.

But to be honest I can’t see it.

I’m hoping we don’t get too downhearted and carry the doom and gloom into Cardiff

Agree, I think it’s going to be really tough. I hope they don’t get too downhearted, Man City are possibly the best team in the world imo
