One year ago today I had a heart attack. Fit as a fiddle now mate. Well, it begins with an f........

Had a lot of good wishes from red and whites which aided my recovery. <ok>
Kinell mate! Glad you're still with us! I thought for a moment that it might have been brought on by John Carver taking up the managers position at St James's :emoticon-0136-giggl great to read that you're fit and well again mate

Looks like we are having Cocu clocked....Could be the raw attack minded new manager we are in need of..
.....and could also be yet another gamble that doesn't pay off. It's time we stopped pratting about with inexperienced managers and went for someone with the experience and the knowledge that Dick displayed during his brief, but successful stay with our club.
The style of football we employ comes second in my list of priorities. IMO, the first priority should be to stabilise the club and put a stop to the annual fight against relegation that we are sadly all too familiar with.

Dick Advocaat's are not 10 a penny though mate, and the majority of the names that are been mentioned don't exactly excite me..I have been reading up on Cocu and many experts expect him to manage one of the top European clubs in the near future. He will have some fantastic contacts with his footballing pedigree, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it turns out that Advocaat himself has had some influence in this supposed interest..

You're absolutely right RAW. Managers of DA's calibre are very thin on the ground, but I feel very uncomfortable about Ellis employing yet another unproven manager. I suppose the odds are that if Ellis continues this policy, he will eventually find the right man for the job, but in doing this he has put the club at risk of relegation for the last 4 years.
For me, we must be targeting a man with experience and wisdom, not inexperienced, but has 'potential'.
Some of the names don't excite me either, but other names like Paul Clement fill me with a feeling of 'deja vu'.

Link? Yesterday it was all as a result smb manipulating the markets. All sources in Holland had rubbished it. Has something happened? Sean Dyche odds are tumbling.

To be fair he's just Built a PSV squad from scratch and won the league. Inexperienced yes, unproven no. Not fair to put him in the same basket as the two Championship managers we had who'd won nowt, not even promotion. It wouldn't be Cocu anyway.

The fact that despite us ruling out Big Sam two weeks ago and Big Sam ruling himself out of a job he had no chance of getting(Pardew Stylie) a couple of days ago he's still favorite. This tells me neither the Media or the bookies have the faintest idea who we're interested in and all the stories so far are not but message board style speculation. Club are playing cards close to their chest. Even the one Journo who has somebody in the club (Chis Young) hasn't got the foggiest. This is good. Nobody saw Dick coming in after all. **** knows who it will be. But it would be naive to think it would be any of the names touted. Chances are it's somebody much further down the list.

Or not on it at all.

As you say, it`s all pure guesswork.

Just going by the bookies odds mate..He seems to have come from nowhere, so my logic was just the one of no smoke without fire..

****, half thought something in the media had come up. No mate, it was the SMB lads who bumped the odds in this daft thread. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/phillip-cocu.1084319/ No substance to it what-so-ever, just a bunch of wallies who started throwing money of one piece of 'itk' info, they threw money on, posted their betting slips and shortened the odds only for it to come out that it's bollocks. :( wouldn't care I'd love him here but it just ain't happening.

Story emerging that we're considering Armin Veh. First story that doesn't coincide with betting odds. You can't even get odds on him at the moment(you'll be able to later this morning) Could have legs. Don't know much about him other than he's managed in the bundesliga

Unimpressed.

Armin Veh has just gone joint favorite with Dyche at 3/1 with sky bet.
