Yep, think that has been said before. So I think they paid around £50m, maybe a bit less. Net profit @£9m plus some later. They've done well to get that too.
I think they paid £45m for him so about £15m profit without the add ones. Overall they probably make about £12m profit or so after paying the sell on fee. Decent profit, but could be nothing if they sell Wissa and Woltemade at a loss (and Wissa is rumoured to be valued at between £10-£15m! A substantial loss if true).
Wissa is nearly 30 and only had one and a half good seasons. You'd want him on a free or a very low fee. They absolutely had their pants pulled down by Brentford there.
They might get £40m for Wolte. But only if Bayern look. The cash isn't there for a player like that. Crazy business.
Sometimes in life you've got to hold your hands up and say it as how it is and "fair play", they've got F**K ALL they can say about us so they make **** it. While we were in the Championship and league one, they had it all their own way, took over by huge wealth... no one respects them. Qualified for the Champions league... no one outside of Newcastle gave a f**k. Won the league Cup... no one outside of Newcastle gave a ****. Sunderland get promoted in spectacular fashion, people took notice and wrote us off.... we proved them all wrong, got into Europe and from what i can see, gaining massive respect from corners of the footballing world. You can have all the money in the world, be a dick about it and get zero respect from anyone. Or, stay humble and gain respect. Sunderland getting promoted is a pure nightmare for Newcastle because people seem to like us.... get ****in used to it.
Aye. It's the favourable coverage that's killing a lot of them, from the end of last season up to the end of this one, loads of telly heads banging on a out the hot atmosphere in matches etc.
Had a belter yesterday with one of the less able of their throng. He had retreated into the idea that finishing 7th didn't make much difference to finishing 17th.
I told him that to a little club like Sunderland, the nearly £40m in merit payments, (gone up it seems, it's now £3.8m a place) plus the Europa League money would help us to keep the lights on for a short while.

It's actually incredible that a club with unlimited finances can actually make such a mess of things.
It's clear that there's a core atmosphere, at the club, that's blindingly obvious but not spoken about ...
... the Newcastle players have absolutely no idea of what the club is.
They don't even know who the owners are, what do they tell their families?
This is why the likes of Isak, Gordon, Tonali, etc, want to leave Newcastle ... who are they playing for?
Seeing the entire 'Sunderland family' on the SOL pitch must've crippled them emotionally ...
... they have nothing to compare with that, they don't even know what the club stands for any more.
They claimed they had their club back but, in truth, it barely exists except in a set of accounts.
Money comes in and out and so do the players, no pride, no love, no decency.
We're only a few points ahead of them but miles better in all the ways that make it a joy to be a supporter.

There’s one on that thread called “yanuted” who seems to know exactly what’s going to happen with us. Apparently Emery inherited a £200m better squad than Howe. So they’re playing catch up!!
