No one can claim the Mags are entertainers playing thrilling silky smooth football …

… they’re attritional and aggressive with pace and height through the middle.

Sunderland weren’t great for the neutrals but played much more football than Newcastle on the day. I’ve honest believe we can repeat this performance at SJP.

The one thing I really couldn't get over was how quickly they decided to waste time in the match, it was basically on the first whistle!

What’s this story on social stuff about Beheady Howe complaining to the Premier League about some chant from our fans on 80 minutes which “seriously affected several of his players “
Could just be click bait?

That has to be a wind up, surely? What about all the Adam Johnson chants in the past etc?

I really hope it's true as it's just more delusional entitled bull **** that makes them look a complete joke.

Non of our 1st eleven are English now, apparently. That's it, SAFC have ruined football. We should hang our heads in shame.
Selective memory as usual . Don’t know our numbers in the 90’s but they were happy to brag about their success brought by the likes of Asprilla, Ginola , Albert .
And now , had they won , we’d hear again about the leagues best midfield , of Bruno , Tonali , Joelinton.

We were in the North Stand and it seemed to kick off slightly in in the Concourse when Talbi went off. There was a big roar up there and next thing we knew the Talbi chant started up

Does Beheady think it’s ok to cut journalists to pieces or chuck people off buildings due to their sexual orientation?

If he has issues about a passionate crowd (whose Beheadys club did its uttermost to humiliate two years back, despite a completely unlevel playing field) he needs to look at the people who pays his wages.

Living in Northumberland it was the lead story last night on the local bbc page.

It really spoilt my night. NOT!

They are that arrogant but the local media has a lot to answer for by constantly blowing sunshine up their backsides.

Looking forward to Dawnie telling us it wasn’t a victory tonight because of the own goal or they won the throw in count.

It is killing them and it’s fun to watch.
The was a 1:1 draw at Roker a few years back that NE media described as a 'moral victory' for Newcastle. When really we'd just let them off the hook.

Not sure if its possible for them to even consider moral victories at the minute.

Elanga & Ramsey cost the thick end of 100 million !! They will both be on big money as well, I would be devastated to have paid that for them

Yeah, and consider that their front three yesterday cost £170 million and replaced them with another £95 million from their bench. That's over a quarter of a billion quid yet none of them looked as good as our lads.

I think that was a one under O'Neill where they scored fairly early and we farted about against 10 men but equalised late on. If it's that one I'm sure we nearly won it in stoppage time with a shot that flashed just wide, a foot further across and it was in.

That sounds familiar. It seemed like there was a run of draws where they would pull one out at the end and was incredibly frustrating.

Didn't happen yesterday though :)

With the right additions and subsequent replacement for Xhaka (how??) we could be set for a while.

I've been talking to a mate today , a good lad who's a lifelong supporter of that lot, though he won't go now because of the Saudis influence.

But he still supports from his sofa and he was boiling about them. His takedown was brutal, and very accurate. In short, he said that Hall, Livramento, Gordon, Elanga, Tonali in particular looked like frightened bairns. Much else annoyed him, not least Howe making no attempt to change things apart from like for like subs.

He thinks, as I did, that with just a better touch, or a break here or there, one of our counters would have brought a goal, and maybe another.

Others will have watched that, and while they won't have the crowd with them in the same way, they will be getting in amongst them like we did. That lot just didn't fancy the hard yards at all.

On that showing, there is virtually none of them I'd want. Maybe Miley, he's very young and more should come. But for the rest, whatever ability they might have, when a serious, awkward test comes, none of them stepped up. Cowardice is not too strong a word for some of them.
