Jordan said if he was Bruce he wouldn’t even want to manage at the ‘toxic’ Tyneside club, and also rated each of Newcastle’s starting XI against Arsenal, saying about Andy Carroll: ‘If he was a horse, you’d shoot it’. Hahaha

The biggest contribution Carroll has made was in compounding the Mag argument about Net Spend.

He's talking himself out of a job and into another pay off. He knows how to do this as well as anyone, no wonder he's loaded.

Bobby Robson once said that the way to earn really good money as a manager was not be successful at a club. Rather, it was to get a name for a bit of competence somewhere down the line, keep getting jobs, keep getting sacked and keep picking up the pay offs and new deals.

Bruce is not the only one - and they could end up with another travelling failure like Mark Hughes- but Robson could have been describing him when offered those sentiments.

I can't remember who it was but I am sure ( Chelsea I think ) put manager on gardening leave kept paying his wages and he could not get another job. Don't remember how it ended but some one with a better memory than me may know

Crystal Palace did it to Bruce for a while when he wanted to go to Birmingham, I think.
