Funniest-moment: Lewis getting booed on the podium http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=173843 actually it wasn't funny :angry:

Thought you were joking at first and linking to a thread with a load of fanboys overreacting to him getting booed, but if what that guy is saying is true then that's disgraceful. I agree with the lad saying they should scrap the podium interviews, it was a nice change in Silverstone but generally they're awful, uncomfortable and cringeworthy, and like he says Hamilton will probably get heckled in Brazil too if he gets on the podium, and in Spain next year.

Sadly, this is all too predictable.

it was a massive majority of the crowd. Really stunned and disappointed. Felt sorry for the decent Italian fans there. A woman next to me was almost in tears saying she was so ashamed of her countrymen. She wanted Alonso to say something to calm them down, but he was too busy lording his glorious third place.

I heard booing, but do you really believe that they were doing monkey noises? I dont believe that one bit and he was clearly overreacting.

I'm sure that a few people took the opportunity to air some racist abuse, but a winning McLaren driver and media-styled enemy of Alonso was going to be roundly booed regardless of the colour of his skin.

It's rather depressing that any other driver can come to any country in the world and be applauded by the majority, but Hamilton can't go to three different circuits on the F1 calendar (thank god we don't do San Marino any more or it would be a fifth of the whole World Championship) without being booed and racially abused by a large section of the fans. Totally disrespectful and it crosses a line whatever your feelings on Hamilton as a driver.

Well said. I find it quite depressing too that many people find it easy to brush this off as insignificant. Anyone who has been on the receiving end of prejudice knows how it feels.

  • Best Driver: Perez
  • Worst Driver: Alonso, ****ing whiney hypocrite
  • Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): pic
  • Best Team: McLaren
  • Worst Team: HRT
  • Best Overtake: so many I can't remember
  • Funniest-moment:
  • Most Surprising Result: Massa finishing well
  • Least Surprising Result: the FIA ****ing over race fans in order to give Ferrari/Alonso a better chance of WDC, absolute joke of a decision and utter hypocrisy from Alonso, now I dislike him immensley again
  • Special Mention to: Hamilton, probably should've gotten my DotD as he was faultless
  • Race Rating: 7/10 spoiled by the FIA and their blatant ferrari favouritism, worse than refs at old trafford.
  • Best Commentator/Presenter overall: BE/DC, best combo the BBC have had for a while.

* Best Driver: Hamilton/Perez. Hamilton faultless; very quick when it really counted and then perfect in 'race-management mode'. Perez for a storming drive from12th, to beat Alonso fair and square and claim a superb 2nd place.
* Worst Driver:
* Best Rookie: Pic
* Best Team: McLaren
* Worst Team: Red Bull
* Best Overtake: Perez on Räikkönen
* Funniest-moment: None. I should like to take this opportunity to say that I find it perplexing that people find the demise of their hero's rivals 'funny'…
* Most Surprising Result: Button retirement
* Least Surprising Result: Vettel penalty: he should have known better than to do it on a Ferrari in Monza.
* Special Mention to: Tifosi for doing it and Hamilton for putting up with the most disgraceful racism. (Yes, there were lots and lots of so-called 'monkey noises'. Utterly, utterly disgraceful)
* Race Rating: 8.23/10
* Best Commentator/Presenter overall: Ben Edwards has no opposition in Sky's sickening 70s DJ.

Sad if that's the case on the chanting Cosi.

It's hard to belive it's the 21st century sometimes... That has to be stamped out of the sport.
