They have known about this chap and a connection since 2017 but kept it quiet and investigated behind the scenes. It’s only because he is about to be released that it’s been made public.

People seem to struggle with the premise of innocent until proven. Especially if it doesn't fit their amateur investigations and witch hunt. However that is not the case, at least at present. They are only guilty of leaving the child alone as it stands. In which case their punishment is not out of keeping with the law regardless of how much money they have or where they sit in society.

I'd probably fall on the side of them being parents who've paid a heavy price for a grave error of judgement and selfishness. However I'm open minded because the evidence is clearly not up to scratch to support any of the assertions being made. One thing I do know however is those on the witch hunt, sending death threats and hounding them do deserve punishment because there is very clear evidence they have done wrong. Complete morons but then that is the case a lot with the general public. They think they know better than they do, often without even arsing themselves to become educated on a topic.

I also doubt whether we, the Public, will ever know exactly what went on.

This brings problems because it doesn’t mean he murdered her. Just means he’s an accomplice. He’s also perverted the course of justice.

If he points the finger at the family or friends then I have no idea how they would prove this.

Doesn’t prove he is an accomplice nor, in this country, does it prove he has perverted the course of justice not by itself anyway. It just proves he knew where the body was. How he knew would then become important.

I'm aware of that and given his history im shocked they never looked at him properly. it would appear something has flashed up, but a confession you can rule out imo.. these people don't confess. The timing of this appeal for information suggests to me they're desperate to stop him getting out . it's all just circumstantial perhaps ? I doubt they'd make the appeal if they had anything strong enough. I hope they find something at that farmhouse.

Surely by NOT telling the police anything that is perverting the course of justice? Or is it. I am not a legal person!

I don’t know in Germany or Portugal what the answer is but there is no legal obligation to report a crime in this country. There are some exceptions but only a few and not for this sort of offending as far i am aware.

Is different if you are speaking to the police and giving a false story but if you knew X killed Y then if you do not report that to the Police then that is not an offence.

They wont find anything to do with MM as he had moved out prior to her being kidnapped. That's what reports are saying!

So I guess the only thing could be the land around it that he would know well probably. To bury evidence?

Unless of course he had been questioned initially back in say 2007 and he told lies.

If had no commented then that would provoke them investigating him as the prime target at the time which they didn't. Having said that they (Portuguese police) didn't even check if he was a criminal by the sounds of it because if they had they would have found out he had child criminal records!

True and in that game it must be about trusting other contacts etc so it is highly possible he would have said something to someone about it at the time and they just kept quiet!
